Chapter 14: Jake finally comes home

Ella's POV

I woke up smiling. Jake was finally coming home tonight. I couldn't wait till I could give him the biggest hug ever and to kiss his lips once more. To look deeply into his brown dreamy eyes and to lock my arms around his neck and put my hands in his hair. For him to rap his arms around my hips and kiss me passionately and lovingly on my lips. I huge grin appeared on my face. The only thing that washed it away was that I had to wait until tomorrow to see him.

I went downstairs still in my pajamas, got myself some toast and found a seat on the the sofa in the living room. I just sat there with my feet up. It was 8 o'clock so Leah was at school and mum would be leaving soon.  

I heard mum coming down the stairs and I got up with my empty plate crossing her as I went to the kitchen.  

"Morning mum" I said bright and cheerfully. She looked a little shocked at my sudden excitement. But replied in a happy tone, hiding her confusion in the voice.  

"Morning hunni. Someone's happy today, did you have a good sleep?" she asked and I went to stand at the door frame of the living room leaning against the side.  

"Yes thanks mum, did you?" I asked politely.  

"I did thanks. But why are you so happy this morning? Not that I don't want you to be happy, it's just you have been so down lately..." she asked curious. She was right though. I had been sad lately.  

"Well, Jake comes back today and we are spending the whole day together at the... waterfall" I almost choked out that last word. My face fell a little and all the images of him flooded back in my mind. Mum saw my scared face and reacted immediately. She placed her arms around me and hugged me tight rubbing circles on my back to calm me down.  

"Ella?, sweetie it's ok. I am sure that if you talk to Jacob about it that he will totally understand and you can spend time together somewhere else." she reassured me. She was right. Jacob would completely understand. I took in a deep breath and let it out slowly.

Mum pulled away and kissed my forhead. She walked into the kitchen to grab her lunch then put on her jacket. "Ella I have to work later tonight. We have been busy lately but if you need anything call me and I will come straight home. I am sorry hunni" she stroked my cheek with her thumb and I smiled weekly at her and nodded my head.

Mum left and I was alone. I wen back to the living room and turned on the news. I had it on low and was on my laptop at the same time. I was messaging Sophie about how Jake would be coming home today.  

Suddenly there was a lady taking on the news about a something I recognized. My head focused on the tv. I messaged Sophie to tell her to put on the morning news channel 7. There he was, well a picture of him, handcuffed and held with a tight grip on his arm by a tall broad police man. I sighed heavily. It felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I messaged Sophie telling her that, that was the guy I saw, who I got really freaked out about.

After a while the story of him was gone and Sophie had to leave to help out her dad. I laid down on the sofa and drifted off to sleep.

I stood there. Scared as ever before. Infront of me was him. His eyes black as coal burning holes into my chest. His tall mussily body stood a foot taller than me, maybe more. His tense right hand held a tight grip of a small shining dagger. I stuttered but. I words came out. I was crying. I felt it. I could feel my life slipping away with each second that passed.

He stepped for ward to me every now and then. I copied his steps but to keep our distance the same so he wouldn't be getting any closer.  

Out from nowhere my Jake jumped infront of me with his hand angled to protect me. "NO!" he ordered as he shouted at the stranger. But the tall scary man ignored him and grabbed his wrist twisting it until the bones were crushed. Jake fell to the ground in pain. I fell to my knees and hugged Jacob from behind. Tears poured out from me and I could hardly see what was going on. It was all a big blur.
