It was the day I had to leave. Everyone was sad: even Norman cried. We shot Makenzie's death scene about fifty times, but it never got easier. Once Kirkman said he had all he needed, we took a cast selfie, and I left the set.
My mom, Val, and I packed our things and took the limo back to the airport. We sat in uncomfortable chairs in silence as we waited for our flight.
"Excuse me." A small voice sounded from behind my seat. I looked back to see a little girl wearing a Walking Dead shirt and holding a small fuzzy book with a matching pen. "Are you Mercy Evans?"
I nodded, and the little girl smiled at the woman behind her. "Mommy, it's Makenzie!" She whispered while jumping in excitement. "Will you sign my book?"
I laughed as a tear rolled down my cheek. I took the book and pen and signed next to Peter Pan's signature. She smiled and thanked me.
"I'm Ana, and you're my favoritest girl in the whole world! Makenzie's best person on The Walking Dead!"
I cried a little more at her words.
"Wait," she said, looking at the bags on the floor. "Where are you going? You haven't finished filming."
"Oh, no, I'm just going to visit some family. I'll be back." I hated lying to my biggest fan, but I couldn't spoil Sunday's episode and my death.
"Flight 459: now boarding." The intercom sounded.
"That's me," I said to Ana. "Keep watching The Walking Dead, no matter what happens." I wiped more tears as I turned away from Ana and went to board the plane.
