Mercy's POV

Eventually, all my problems did fade back to me, and I jumped away from Chandler faster than I would have if he was on fire. "Chandler, this is wrong." I stood up and started to leave the Riggs brothers there, but Chandler chased me down.

"No," he called, making me stop in my tracks. "This is right. Brianna is wrong. You don't know what she's doing! I can't leave her because... Because she knows things. Things worse than Lucy. She's basically blackmailing me, Mercy."

I didn't know if my heart was swelling or breaking at his words. He didn't love her, but he still chose her. "Chan," I turned to face him, which brought color to his sad eyes. "I love you, but you still chose her over the truth. You still stopped calling, and you're still with her. So, no... This is wrong."

Now I knew my heart was breaking. I didn't want to say those things, but I knew, until he had Brianna sorted out, I deserved better than all the drama he's mixed into my life. I didn't let the tears spill from my eyes until I was a safe distance away from Chandler.

When I finally made my way back home, almost across the country from my heartbreak, the first thing I did was call Cash to tell him about visiting Lucy.
