Cash and the love of his life, Lucy, sat in the Corner cafe in their small town in Georgia talking about anything and everything under the sun.

They were peaceful until a certain blue eyed boy decided to ruin the moment.

"Hey, guys." Chandler teased when he slid into the seat beside Lucy. Cash never had much of a liking for Chandler, but Lucy thought he was just dazzling. "Beautiful day, isn't it, Lucy?"

"Don't talk to her," Cash snapped. "Just leave us alone."

"Aw, c'mon, Cash," Lucy gushed. "He's not hurting anything. Let him stay."

Chandler feigned surprise and looked at Cash with a smug look. "Well, thank you, Lucy. Tell me, are these your keys?"

Chandler picked up a pink lanyard with keys hooked at the bottom and dangled them between himself and Lucy. Lucy nodded with a smile she only ever gave Cash.

"Yep, all my keys are right there. Even my locker key." Lucy reached for her lanyard, but Chandler snatched it away and stood up with a smirk.

"Then this is very important to you. Guess you'll have to come get them." Chandler backed toward the exit. Cash stood up and tried to take Lucy's keys, but he failed miserably.

Chandler crossed the street with Lucy's keys stuffed in his pocket. He looked accross the street at the sweet girl expectantly.

She laughed and stepped onto the pavement to chase after her keys. Cash tried to stop her, but it was too late.

Two seconds is all it took for Cash's world to come crashing down around him. A blue truck, a loud horn, Lucy's last gasp...

Cash and Chandler ran to her side, but there was no use.

Lucy's funeral was six days later, and Cash never forgave Chandler. Of course, Chandler had no problem forgiving himself and convincing himself that it was all Cash's fault.
