Mercy's POV

I think seeing Chandler gave me some closure on the situation because I was able to enjoy a day at the mall with my best friend. The whole day consisted of going in every store and trying on clothes we had no intention of buying.

We were only half way across the mall when we saw Cash examining a blue jacket in the store across from us. After debating whether or not we should, Val and I made our way over and tapped Cash on the shoulder.

"Mercy," he smiled, turning away from the jacket. "Just the girl I wanted to see. And who's this?" He looked at Val, but then soon remembered the incident when Chandler lost his leg. "Oh, wait," he said, crossing his legs slightly. "I remember."

"Yeah," Val replied, not feeling guilty at all. "You deserved it, though."

"You wanted to see me?" I asked, pulling us away from the topic that was inevitably going to lead to Chandler.

Cash's brown eyes darted from Val to me as he flashed his smile. His eyes were a refreshing difference from Chandler's. "Yes, I have an invitation for you. How would you and your friend here like to come to a bonfire tonight?"

I could tell Val was about to object, so I jumped in and accepted Cash's offer. "We'd love to."

"Great," he smiled. "Meet me at the fountain that looks like Ernest Hemingway." He brushed my arm with his before walking away, making me get a feeling different from the ones I felt with Chandler. I wasn't sure if it was better or worse.
