Soul Resonance

Chapter two

Jinx's POV

     Leo and I were walking through the park wondering what all of the clapping is.

     "I should be the center of attention!! C'mon Leo! Let's go see what all of that clapping is!" I said running to the loud noise.

     I saw my older sister Jade lying on the ground. Her breathing was heavy. They must've been racing.

     Leo finally caught up. I grabbed his hand and sprinted behind a bush. Jade hated being the center of attention, why was everyone clapping at her and she wasn't, like, killing them?

     Eve kissed her on the cheek.

     Then they kissed.

     "YOU GO BIG SIS!!!!" I yelled standing up from the bush.

     Leo pulled me down before they turned back to see what yelled that.

     "You idiot! Now they know we're here!" He whisper scolded.

     "Crap, you're right... Jade hates it when I spy on her."

     The branches rustled and Adam's face saw us. "Hey guys. Leaf counting again are we?"

     "Ok you caught us. We just wanted to know what all of the clapping was." I admitted. Leo stood up next to me and nodded.

     "Jade is the fastest person in the DWMA!" Cinnamon yelled excitedly.

     My face lit up. I grabbed jade and ruffled her hair. "Great job big sis! Now you're faster than Cinnamonbun over here!" I said laughing.

     "Hey!" Sylvie yelled.

     We all laughed.

     "Hey why don't you guys meet Jade and I at our place in an hour. I was gonna make some pizza but I have to get the stuff." Eve said.

"Sounds great! See you there!" Leo said.

Eve ran off to go get the stuff.

Everyone was staring at Jade. "What?" She asked.

"You and Eve huh?" I said smirking and putting one arm around her. "I've been shipping you guys since you became partners!"

Jade blushed. "I-it's nothing... I have to go take a shower. You guys remember the plan!" She said as she ran off.

We all smiled. Today was gonna be great.

Jade's POV

I ran off, trying to escape anymore questions and comments about the kiss.

I unlocked the door to Eve and I's house and walked into the bathroom. My reflection started at me through the mirror.

I smiled. I was in shape finally! I turned around but my chest hit the wall. Our bathroom wasn't very big. "Ow!" I fell to the ground and the cabinet opened so various creams, pills, and mascara fell on to me.

"What's all the ruckus in there?" I heard a voice call. Eve must be home.

She opened the door and looked down at me.

"What happened?" She asked amused.

"My boobs betrayed me." I said lifting a bottle of pills from my face.

     "Wait what?" Eve asked laughing.

     "Long story, I'm gonna take a shower now."

     "Ok!" She laughed, walking out and shutting the door behind her.

     I got up, cleaned everything off of the floor, then started the water.

After I washed up I got out, the mirror and window was all steamy. I wiped them off with my arm then dried off. Eve knocked on the door. "Yeah?"

"Jinx and Leo are here, Sylive said she and Adam are on they're way. Katria said she's picking something to drink up." She said through the door.

"What?" I opened the door.

     Jinx and Leo were sitting on the couch.

     "What the hell Eve!! I'm half naked why would you let a dude in?!?!?!"

"Well I didn't know you didn't have clothes in there with you!! Stop yelling at me!" She yelled back.

I held the towel tighter and made sure nothing was showing.

     Leo kinda looked away awkwardly. Then I ran to my room.

Eve's POV

     I walked into the kitchen to check on the pizza. It was almost ready, the crust was a golden brown, the cheese almost entirely melted.

     Jade came out from her room and walked up to me. I looked her in the eyes. Her left one black, the other red. Like her sisters, but Jinx had instead of red, purple.

     "What's wrong?" I asked, her eyes were filled with worry.

     "I'm fine, don't worry about it." She hugged me.

     I hugged back. "Are you sure? You seem kinda off lately."

     "I'm okay."

     The timer went off. Pizza was ready!

     I put on my oven mitt and opened the oven to pull out the melty heaven.

     "How come you came to the DWMA instead of becoming a cook? You're so good!" Jade asked.

     "I dunno. The DWMA seemed cool and I wanted to do more than just make food, even though that's kinda what we do... In a way..." I explained.

     "True. Keishen eggs are delicious!!" Jade licked her lips.

     "And eventually they'll turn you into a death scythe! Just all of the Keishen eggs, plus one witch soul."

     "I don't want to become a death scythe... Then I'd have to leave you and become Lord Death's weapon! I'd also replace my own mother... No one is better than her! Then there's my aunt who's a machine gun!" Jade said.

     "But Jinx is a machine gun."

     "Well yeah! Machine guns are dangerous! Way more dangerous than a pistol like Sylvie! I mean, they're still powerful, but you don't want to mess with a machine gun."

     "That's right! Hey Jade rem-" jinx said, walking into the kitchen.

     Jade covered her mouth before she finished her sentence, and stared her in the eyes.

     Jinx nodded then walked over to the pizza. "I knew I smelled something delicious! Eve you're such a good cook!" She said rubbing her belly.

     Someone knocked on the door.

     I opened it and Ansara, Sylvie, Katira, and Adam stood there. Sylvie was on Adams back as usual.

     "Hey guys! We brought smoothies that Adam made himself! They're so good! I've had them before!" Cinnamon yelled.

     Jinx walked up to her. "Hey cinnamon bun! What's up guys?"

     "It's Cinnamon! C I N N A M O N! Not cinnamon bun!" Cinnamon yelled.

     We all laughed.

     "Alright who wants some pizza?"
