Soul Resonance

Chapter seventeen

Jade's POV

"Ansara?!"

"Yeah that would be me. Your friends are all tied up downstairs in the basement with their lives at stake. It's all your decision. I always slipped by your radar. The information you were oblivious to gave me an advantage. I have a surprise for you!" She said, a sickening grin across her twisted face.

"No!" I said and sprinted to the basement door. I flung it open and yelled, "Guys! I'm right here! You're all fine! I'm coming!" And ran down the creaky stairs. The last one snapped in half and I tripped, almost falling Onto my face.

I saw all of them tied up with thick rope, quickly turned into a half scythe and cut them all free.

Anwar's eyes were huge and filled with terror. "It was Ansara! Sh-she did th-this!!" He stuttered.

Jinx and I glanced at eachother then realized. "She has become one on Shinigami's list!!" We yelled in sync.

Cinnamon turned into her pistol form and Adam caught her. Everyone else followed. Except Jinx.

Jinx stared at the ground. "Come one Jinx, turn already!" Leo yelled.

"Leo I sense something." She said.

"Jinx what is it?" I called from my blue scythe form. "I sense something to but I can't place it..."

Her eyes shot open. "Not only is she on Shinigami's list..." She whipped around and faced everyone. "There's a keishen with her!!" she exclaimed.

Ansara clapped slowly. "Alright. Now you've put the puzzle pieces together. You may kill me now. I've done my part by leading the hungry keishen here." She spears her arms out and Adam shot her without hesitation. She immediately fell to the ground, dead as a door nail.

Then the rumbling started. "Come on! Get upstairs!" Anwar called.

"Ugh! I can hardly move in this dumb dress!" Eve said. She stretched, ripping it slightly on her hips and waist. "There. That's better!" She commented then followed everyone upstairs.

The stood there waiting. "I kinda look and feel like James Bond. I mean, I have a gun and I'm wearing a suit and tie." Adam said breaking the silence.

Then the front doors burst open to reveal a keishen, dripping in black blood. He smiled a sickening grin. "Ahh, Welcome to the dinner party. Ansara was a darling by helping me to find you guys."

Jinx turned into a machine gun and Leo instantly fired countless bullets at the keishen. Nothing happened. Eve slashed me around crazily and managed to strike the keishen a few times. The black blood splattered the floor. Adam shot Cinnamon countless times. Steve threw Katria at it and she returned to him.

Jinx and Leo were closest to it. Leo just kept shooting. A battle cry escaped his lips. The keishen slashed his arm and knocked Jinx out of his hands. "Leo!" Jinx called desperately. He fell to the ground and stared at it in fear. It was about to strike him with a powerful blow. Jinx quickly turned back and launched herself in front in between them.

I held my breath as I watched the keishen strike her instead of Leo. She fell to the ground and a mixture of black blood and red blood splattered the floor.

Adam and Steve managed to kill the keishen. I changed back into human form and ran to my sisters side. I could already tell what was happening. Leo was trying to hold back tears as he held her in his arms. "Jinx please wake up!"

She sat up and look him in the eyes. She grinned evilly and stood up. "Hey! Look at that!" She said as she wiped her finger across her wound. It was healing unusually fast. "My blood is black! What are the odds?"

Leo nearly doubled over in shock. "No, no god please no. Jinx snap out of it!"

I held him back in a string grasp. "Leo there's nothing that you can do right now. But there is something I can do..." I said.

Leo turned and looked at me confused. "What are you gonna do?"

"Sister Resonation!" I yelled and ran towards her. Out of habit she did the same and we ran to each other and clapped hands. I felt a surge of her energy as our soul wavelengths collided.

I could feel the madness of the black blood soak around me. I saw Jinx in sort of a sleeping coma, surrounded by it. It almost went to her hips. I could feel the level of blood rising, slowly corrupting me as well.

"Eve! I love you!" I cried and then lost consciousness of my old self.
