Soul Resonance

Chapter nine

Jade's POV

     "Wait, what!?" Kid asked astonished,

     "She still has the scars... I couldn't bare to look at her for almost a year. I know she forgives me, but I can't even forgive myself for letting all of my pain and anger take over like that..." I explained.

     "I know what was happening. The hunters instinct in your soul mixed with your rage and sadness. your powers were just there to make matters worse. I've done a little bit of research on Whisp hunter souls, but haven't found much information considering how rare they are. Why would your father leave in the first place?"

     "He was jealous that my mother had become a death chain scythe. He wouldn't see her as much and wouldn't get to be her partner anymore. He was a very selfish man. I'm just glad he's gone. I didn't want to hurt him, my soul just took over. Jinx got in the way though..."

     "I see..."

Ansara's POV

     I was so scared.

     Jade might be dead, Jinx was on edge, the Legendary Thompson sisters were sitting in front of me, and we just watched our friends fight a huge Freak that everyone else was useless to.

     That night, Eve continued the sleepover. Now we're sitting here drinking tea and coffee talking about Jade.

     Cinnamon was in a corner, Adam snuggling her. She was pretty worked up after what happened. She blames herself. She was the one who suggested playing Hide and Seek in the dark.

I sat next to Anwar, he grabbed my hand. "You're shaking."

I then noticed I was slightly. "Yeah, so...?"

"Don't worry, she'll be fine. Jade's in good hands." Liz said.

"Hey why don't we play a game to get our minds off of things?" Katria suggested.

"Wait! Let's play truth or dare! First lemme call Kirito!" Liz said.

     Kirito is Kid's girlfriend. She was a part of our squad, she just couldn't come to the sleepover because she had some exam to do or whatever.

     Before we knew it she was here.

     "Alright shall we start?" She asked, a mischievous grin on her face. "I love this game."

     "If only Jade could join us. It's her favorite too." Jinx said, her head on Leo's lap. He played with her purple streaked black hair. She had it shaved on one side.

     "I could call Kid real quick to see how she's doing if you'd like." Liz suggested.

     Jinx shot her head up. Eve sat up straighter too. "That would be amazing!" They said in unison.

     "Ok I'll be right back." Liz said pulling out her going and walking into the other room.

Kid's POV

     Jade was checking out. She was fine now. She just needed some rest. It was possible to die of pure exhaustion, so that's why I took her here.

     My phone rang.

     "Hello?" I asked.

     "Hey Kid, it's just Liz. Jinx and Eve are gettin ancy. Cinnamon is about to fall apart. I swear, she's just like Patty!"

     "Jade's fine. We're checking out now."

     "We're about to play truth or dare. Kirito is here by the way. So when you get here, why don't you play it with us?"

Ansara's POV

     Liz walked back into the room. "He didn't pick up, I just left a message. Let's start."

     We all sat in a circle, cinnamon wasn't playing, she just sat on Adams lap in a little ball of tears.

     "Jinx you go first."

     "Ok... Ansara! Truth? Or dare?" She asked me, mischief gleaming in her purple and black eyes.

     "Jeez, I dunno. Uh.., Dare."

     "I dare you to kiss Anwar!!" She said.

     I got wide eyed and blushed madly. I liked Anwar but had no idea if he felt the same.

     I awkwardly leaned towards him and our lips crashed. He deepened the kiss, our lips moving in synch.

     "Ugh gross! I said kiss! Not make out! Get a room!" Jinx laughed.

      We stood up and went to the corner of the room, not wanting to stop.

Katria's POV

     "Alrighty, since Ansara and Anwar stepped out of the game, why don't you go Eve?" I suggested.

     She shrugged, "alright, Adam truth or dare?"

     "Truth."

     "What was the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you?"

     "Well one time I was being chased by my brothers friend, and since I was so tall, I forgot to duck to go through the front door and I smacked my face off of the door frame!" He said laughing. We all were laughing too.

     We heard a strange noise and turned to the window which was being opened. Jade was climbing through.

     Eve shot up and ran to her, wrapping her arms around her. She nearly knocked Jade over.
