Soul Resonance

Chapter six

Eve's POV

     What..? Jade killed this dude before?

     "Jade, we kill Keishen souls almost everyday! How is this guy different?" I asked her from across the pavement from where we were.

     "Oh Jade, you left out an important note. Why don't you tell them?" The freak said.

     "H-he's not a Keishen... He was innocent..." Jade admitted.

     But how? He abused them!

     "Rule number one about keishens honey, you gotta kill a person. At least one. I only abused them." He said.

     Jade ran at me, more like appeared in front of me. She flashed from the spot where she was standing to her face being only a few inches away from mine in the blink of an eye. Her eyes had no white, just the pure color of her iris. No pupil either, just red on one eye and black the other. The strange mist dwelling from them. They glowed, showing no emotion. "Eve, please forgive me... I couldn't let him hurt my baby sister..." Her eyebrows turned upwards shoeing she was upset. Tears streamed down her face. "I wasn't aware of my power... And I didn't tell anyone because I didn't want to hurt you guys..."

     She kissed my cheek then turned to the giggling tall freak. He was clapping.

     "What's your problem?" Ansara asked him.

     "I'm just so happy that we've made this into a sappy love story. Too bad there isn't gonna be a happy ending!" He said launching a dark... Something, I don't even know what it was, towards Jade.

     She turned and shot towards him using her Jinx-machine gun arms.

     Jade turned back and looked at me for a split second.

     Eve, I'm so sorry...

     Wait, how did she do that?

     I can read minds and send messages through minds... I don't usually do it though so don't worry.

     Uh... Ok.

     She turned and ran towards the freak. She jumped into the air and flipped, trying to slice him with the scythe on her back.

     He moved at the last minute and she landed on her feet.

      I had never seen Jade move so fast and gracefully. How do you do that Jade?

     It's my soul.

    Her soul... Oh right! She explained about her soul telling everyone about Whisps! I never knew exactly what she was capable of though. She was amazing.

     Adam picked up Cinnamon and started shooting at the freak. Ansara grabbed Anwar and charged toward the freak. Steve threw Katria at the freak and she came back like a boomerang. I was left with Leo, both of us watching our weapons fight amazingly against this monster.

     The Akerman sisters.

     A pair that could never break.

     Being a myster, I tried to study their souls, but they were so strong and energetic I couldn't.

     I looked at Leo, he looked terrified. I rested my hand on his shoulder.

     He looked at me, confused.

     "Jinx is gonna be alright, Jade would give her own life for her sister." I said.

     He smiled for split second, then went back to watching the fight. We were helpless. Jade was skilled in combat too? I never knew this, it must be in her genes.

     Jade tried her slice flip again and managed to strike him.

     He winced in pain. "I hope all of you realize that your blows are nothing to me. The only one that can defeat me are the Akerman sisters." He smiled again. "And it looks like they are struggling."

     Jades face showed no emotion. If she fell, she got back up. If she failed at a strike, she tried again. He tried to strike her but she manages to dodge every time. It's like her energy and strength levels never go down. The strength in her soul might have something to do with why it's so hard for us to resonate... I'd have to learn how to control the strength of my soul to let hers collide with mine...

     While I was distracted, something hit me hard and I tasted blood in my mouth. The freak had hit me with something.

     Jade stopped.

     "Defeated are we, my darling?" The freak asked.

     She stood up. The fire in her eyes returned. They blazed with anger. Literal fire burned from her eyes. "You hurt my myster. My love. Now you're screwed."

     "Jade no! You'll end up killing yourself!" Jinx said, from Jade's arms.

     "I don't care. If you want to back out, then un-resonate. I'm doing this no matter what."

     "No. I am no coward. I'll stick by your side until the end older sis."

     Eve I love you...

     I stared at her in horror. What was she doing!?

     She and Jinx fell apart, they had un-resonated.

     "What the hell are you doing!?" Jinx asked.

     The fire and mist stayed in Jades eyes. A red glow appeared on her hands.

     "Jade! You'll end up killing yourself! Don't do it!" Jinx cried helplessly, begging her sister.

     Jinx ignored her and ran towards the freak, using her powers to run incredibly fast. She jumped into the air and socked the freak in the face.

     We all watched I'm surprise as he fell to the ground.

     Jade landed on him with a stabbing foot, then beat him senseless. Tears streamed down her face as she fought with rage.

     She's screamed loudly, all of her anger and hurt making every strike harder, stronger, faster.

     Adam got up and pulled her off, him being 6'7", picking her up wasn't hard, even though she was 6'3".

     Jade collapsed in his arms out of pure exhaustion.

     "Jade? Jade!" Jinx cried as she ran to her sisters side. "Without my energy I knew this would happen!"

     Jades breathing slowed.

     "She didn't realize that she had already defeated him. His weak spot was his heart, and when she landed on him, kicking with a hard blow, she hit his heart. I payed attention to his soul during the fight, knowing that I would be useless against him." Adam explained.

    "Will she be ok!?"

     "I'm not entirely sure. You were right though, Jinx. Her strength is powerful, but she was using too much of it with to little energy. Whe you guys un-resonated, all of her energy came with you. It's not your fault, that's just how you split up."

     Jinx stood up and stared at the moon. "So now you guys know our big secret. I guess we'll just leave town. I'm sure Lord Death will understand." She said, showing no emotion.

     Leo walked up to her and hugged her. "Please don't leave, Jinx! I can't live without you!"

     "I guess I could stay, but I'd have to lead Jade out of town. The last thing she wants is to hurt any of us. She has no control over her anger. The blaze from her eyes, and the red glow on her hands, the first time I saw that was when she killed him in the first place. It's all of her rage and pain leaving her. The only other time I've seen it other than now was when our father abandoned us. I had to restrain her, she ended up hurting me by accident. That's why she never told anyone of her powers."

     "But if she killed a human, doesn't that make her a Keishen?" Katira asked.

     "Oh he wasn't human, but he wasn't Keishen either. I'm not quite sure what he was." Adam said.

     Ansara walked over to us. "What's gonna happen now?"
