Mae's POV:

I wake up that morning from another nightmare. I've been having them more often now that my twentieth birthday has passed. I've been training under Supreme Leader Snoke of the First Order since I can remember. He says I may become better than him one day.
••••
I'm soon dressed in my jumpsuit and begin walking to training. I pass Kylo Ren's quarters. He believes he'll be as powerful as Darth Vader, but he doesn't know about my progress. I make my way to the cafeteria to grab an apple before officially going to training. I walk into the giant Throne Room and wait for Snoke to appear. Soon he does and I begin training.
••••
"Your skills, are...impressive." Snoke states, nodding his head. "You are ready to build a lightsaber." A small smile forms onto my lips. "Since you are very strong on the light, and dark side you now have a choice on whether you become and Jedi, or a Sith Lord. You have six months to build it." And with that his hologram was gone. I walked out of the room, bumping into Kylo Ren. "Sorry sir." I looked down. "Mae." His dark, almost menacing voice said, almost soft. "I'd like to talk to you after lunch. Meet me in my quarters." He then walked off, leaving me in shock.
••••
Shortly after I finish lunch I walk by Kylo Ren's quarters quickly and sped off to mine. I packed my backpack and left through the back entrance. I was going to build my lightsaber.
••••
I wondered this planet the First Order was stationed on and combed through the mines. I eventually found, bronze and black saber crystals. But wait, these are meant for dark, strong Jedi. Had these crystals chosen me for the dark side? I hadn't even thought about whether to become a Sith or a Jedi. I knew so much on both sides. The Emperor said with a little more training I could be better than him, but I could also be more powerful than every Jedi master. Dark, or Light side? I grabbed every crystal that I saw and made my way back to the station. I climbed into my window and sat the crystals on my desk. I looked over the eleven different ones. Dark, or Light? The question pounded my brain for four months before I finally made my decision.

In the end, I had a black and bronze lightsaber. I left my quarters to show Kylo Ren, for he had been talking to me a lot more recently. I knocked on his door, the double saber on my belt. The door slid open. He was sitting in a chair, helmet off. I freeze in the doorway, no one has ever seen him without his helmet. His chair slowly turns and I'm left without words.
