Mae's POV:

Months pass as I stay here and train my Padawan. Han is killed by Kylo and finishes his training under Snoke. Or that's what I've heard. I've had no contact to Kylo since I got in the Rebel base. These people, I wanna keep them safe. I continue to train my apprentice as the months turn into a year. He's a bright, powerful little boy. Soon a girl arrives, and she's a Jedi alright. I take her under my wing and train her and boy together. Life on this base isn't to bad. I think I like this more than The other base. I heard that was blown up anyway. But, I don't think I'll return to Kylo anytime soon.

Kylo Ren's POV:

It's been a year since the resistance took Mae. I killed my father out of anger, but I now heed Mae's warning. 'You can't always let your emotions speak for you.' I don't know what else to do anymore. She was my rock, my entire life. I've distracted myself with training but it's not the same without Mae. She'd push me to be better. She was training me to be as good as her. Snoke said he couldn't match her training skills. But I no longer care about being as strong as Vader. I only want her.

Mae's POV:

The girl is almost ready to become a knight along with the boy. Within one year and six months they've been knighted by Master Luke. Then I'm given the rank of grand master.
As the months pass I train more padawans, wondering when Kylo will come for me. Though, I enjoy it here, I miss him dearly. Every now and then I'll feel him try to reach me, but since our mental bond isn't fully developed, he looses connection with me. I walk into General Organa's office. "General, may I take a fighter and take it to a distant system where The First Order can find me?" She slowly looked up at me. "After all you've done to help us, yes you may." I smile and give the woman and hug before going.

I'm about to board the two man ship when my first Padawan runs and hugs me. I stumble slightly, hugging him back tightly. "I'm going to miss you Aaron." Aaron smiled and looked at me. "Stay safe, and May the Force be with you." I smile and kiss the small boys head before climbing into the ship with the pilot. I smile as my fingers mess with the leather bracelets Aaron made for me shortly after he was knighted. They'll remind me of happy times from now on. I put on my helmet and strap in for the ride to a planet near the new First Order base.

After the ride the pilot drops me off and he's back on his way to the resistance base. After two days of sitting here on this planet a First Order ship, Kylo's ship, lands on the planet. I run to him when I see him step off. His arms squeeze me in an embrace, he lifts me and carries me back to the ship. Once in his quarters he rips off his helmet and kisses me needingly. I kiss back, my fingers running through his hair. He pulls back. "Did they hurt you?" He whispered and pulls me into his lap, holding me close. "No. They treated me well." He nods and rubs my back. "I'm now a Grand Master Jedi, and Sith Lord."

He smiles up at me, squeezing my hips softly. "I'm just glad my angels safe." I feel my face become hot and he kisses my cheeks softly. We sit tangled together the entire flight back to the base. Once we get back it surprises me that Kylo and I are sharing quarters now. It's one large bed with a nice comforter on it. I begin to scour the closets, looking for a new jumpsuit when I come across a black one. I grab that one and climb into the new high tech shower. Once done I pull on my under garments, the jumpsuit and my cloak back on. I retie the leather bracelet around my wrist and braid my hair. I walk back out into the bed area only to find I'm by myself.

After about three hours of looking out the big window onto the snow covered forest I'm startled when the door opens. I look up to find Kylo. Turning back to the window he comes and sits across from me on the sill, I feel his eyes on me. I turn to look at him and he motions me to sit with him. I comply, crawling over and sitting in between his legs. I smile as his arms wrap themselves around my waist. We sit like this, together long enough for the clouds to turn into stars, the sun to turn into the moon. I gently wriggled out of Kylo's grip and he follows. I walk out of the quarters to get dinner, he follows shortly after, his helmet on.

Later that night Kylo's in the shower and I lay in bed. I lay in some nightwear and my hair braided back. I begin to think about Aaron and Rey, Leia and Luke. I miss all four of them, but I know they're safer without me there. From what guards have told me, Kylo went ballistic everyday I was gone. I worry for him. His love for me will be his downfall. I can feel it. Though every time I try to bring it to his attention, he ignores me, saying I'm just worrying to much. I frown upon him being so naïve.
Suddenly I feel the man climbing into bed behind me, his arms wrapping me into a position where he's spooning me. I smile softly as his lips kiss the back of my head. The list I now use to figure him out has grown longer.

He gets harder and harder to decode as I spend time with him. The moments he does tell me something important, it helps, but not much. He's no open book. More like a safe trying to be open with a key. It's impossible. But again, that's the fun in relationships and friendships. Figuring each other out. You wouldn't want to go into a relationship knowing everything about that person. Then it gets boring. I know this, I know that. I want to decode people as I get to know them. That's what makes my relationship with Kylo interesting.
