Twenty-Nine

Mae's POV

I'm saying my goodbyes to Kylo the next day. His lips linger on my forehead just a minute longer than usual before pulling away. "Please, stay safe Mae. I don't know what I would do if I lost you." He whispers softly. I nod, kissing his lips softly. "I love you, and may the force be with you." I pull away and grab my bag before walking out the residence.

I'm soon faced to Hux, his lips curled into a slight smile. "Lord Vatrix, your escape pod is ready." I nod and climb in, securing by lightsaber before reaching for the controls. I launch myself into space, beginning to fly the pod to Jakku.

Once I've landed on the base I slowly climb out of my pod, quietly finding my way through the streets of the compound. I feel a presence behind me and quickly ignite my lightsaber.

Rey.

She ignites her own lightsaber and looks me dead in the eyes. "Why are you here Darth Vatrix?" Hearing her say my Sith name satisfies me for some reason. "I'm hear for you."

Bombs.

Screams.

That's all the noise that's heard in the seconds following my sentence. Rey charges me but I use the force, throwing her back against a wall. She groans in pain and slowly stands, facing me. "What happened to you?" Her words twist in my head and I clench my teeth. "Listen, this is who I am now. There never was, nor will there ever, be another me." She shrinks back slightly, my mind taking that chance and lunging at her. Her lightsaber blocks mine and we're locked into battle once more.

I find the strength to over power Rey and knocked her out using the force. She lays unconscious at my feet. I walk off, trying to find my escape pod so I can get off this horrid planet. I climb into my pod and quickly launch into space. A battle ship trailing behind me as I land on the main ship. "Lord Vatrix, we have Luke Skywalker in custody." I nod, letting Hux show me to the cell. I feel his force power as I stand outside.

Slowly walking in, I feel his fear radiating off him. I slowly remove my helmet, letting my eyes meet his. "Mae, what has happened to you?" Venom.

"I haven't been Mae in a year at least." The words physically hurt to say it to him. He sensed my hurt and gave me a sympathetic look. His eyes met mine and tears began forming in mine. I couldn't bring myself to hurt him in anyway. I slowly put on my helmet to hide my now tear streaked face, and walked out of the cell.

Hux caught my arm but I jerked from his grip, storming off down the hall. I quickly turn into the throne room and launch my helmet across the room in a fit of rage. I begin hitting every damn thing with my lightsaber, leaving nothing untouched. Everything sizzles with a quickly fading, but burning red. The thrones been hit down the middle and right as I'm about to hit it again when the door flies open, revealing Kylo. His words don't reach me as I hit the throne again and again.

Suddenly I feel a restraint on my waist and look down, seeing its Kylo's arms. I drop my lightsaber and quickly slide out of his grip, not wanting him to see me this way. He only grabs once more and pulls me to his chest. I do nothing but sob, needing to let my emotions out. His fingers rub my back softly, sobs continuing to rack my body. I feel him trying to read my mind and I let him, knowing it'll be easier instead of me trying to explain it with words I can not form right now at this very moment. His arms tighten around my waist and slowly lift me to my feet. "Come on. I wanna show you something." I stand to my feet, letting him lead me to the garden. "Mae, I love you so much and I just want to let you know, I'll always love you so very much." He whispers, kissing my forehead softly and hugging me close, kissing my forehead.

Later that night I'm tying back my hair for bed while Kylo showers. My fingers lightly brush against my month along stomach. I soon feel a pair of arms wrap around my waist and then bring me in close. "Mae, let's lay down." His lips kiss my jaw softly before tugging me to bed. Soon we both lay down, his arms pulling me close. "Goodnight Mae, I love you."
