Chapter 18

Amanda's POV:

As I left the office I could basically feel so much tension surrounding it. Xavier seemed to get very tensed at what I had said. As I sat on my chair to finish the remaining document, I could hear a bit of shouting. It seems the situation is much worse then I thought. Xavier has always been the one to be calm, loosing his calmness is rare.

I looked up when I heard Gio's door open, one by one many men's in suit came out hurriedly. Saying their thank you to me and leaving.

I wonder what is happening. One thing for sure is that seeing Xavier here has made my feelings for him resurface. I need to talk with him.

I decided to finish remaining of my work so when I talk to Xavier I don't have any disturbances. As I finished sending the last email to our client, the door to Gio's office opened and came out Xavier.

He looked quite angry and pissed about something. I could feel power radiating from him. I felt a bit scared by him, is this his Mafia Boss Face?

I saw him walking past my office not even glancing my way. He never does that, in the past whenever he came to visit he would always say hi/goodbye to me before leaving.

I hurriedly got up and called after him "Xavier"

I saw him stop and turn around, I motioned for him to come to my office, as he came i told him to have a seat.

"I...umm.. I wanted" i tried but couldn't stop stammering.

"Amanda, do you have anything important you would like to say, because I am needed somewhere." Xavier said.

Wow rude much!

"It's okay, if you're busy then you should go, I can talk to you later." I say, slightly disappointed.

I heard him sigh as he slowly got up from the chair he was sitting at. He turned to look at me before leaving "I'm sorry, but as you can see I'm just very busy, and I have a lot to deal right now. It would be better to not drag you into my problems at this moment. Have a good day." He says and leaves me speechless.

What the hell is going on? Why does he look so stressed out?

Xavier's POV:

I felt extremely bad for being rude at Amanda, but it's better for her to not involve herself with me at the moment. I have to get rid of this security situation before I can rest.

I know she wanted to talk to me about me being the Mafia Boss, and I am very eager for her answer but it's not the right time. If Rafeal even gets a little clue about me loving Amanda, he would use her against me, and I would never want her to go through any pain at all.

I sat at my office, going through the security system, looking through the information and checking the surveillance cameras to see who was entering into the office. I told Greydan to handle the club issue, and let me know if he finds anything. As I looked through the surveillance, i noticed something off. I zoomed into the screen and paused the video at the suspicious looking guy. He looked like a normal employee but something was off, maybe the fact that he was insanely built, and had a packet in his hand, also the fact you could see a glimpse of Tatoos on his neck. I played the video and followed his trail, it looked like he went to the bathroom. I fast forwarded the video until I saw him coming out from the bathroom, with no packet in his arms.

Where is the packet?

I started to get anxious, I called the office security right away and told them to check the bathroom, and see if they find any packet. I decided to go check out this out myself as well.

I hurriedly got up and ran to my car reaching the office in max 15 minutes. The office building was empty except for the security and the cleaners. I hurried towards the bathroom and entered, I saw guards going through stall by stall, but not finding much.

I know the packet is here some where, all I need to know is where he hid it. I looked around the spacious bathroom trying to find something odd. I told one of the guards to check underneath the sink.

"Boss another guard already checked, there is nothing underneath it." Guard replied.

"Check it one more time, whatever it is, is here." I replied back.

He nodded and went ahead to check underneath the sinks.  I saw him go through sink by sink and saw him tense up at the last one, I moved towards the guard, and saw him take out a brown coloured packet.

"WHO WAS THE GUARD WHO CHECKED UNDERNEATH THE SINKS FIRST?" I shouted.

Silence

"FUCKING ANSWER ME" I yelled.

One by one, everyone declined that it wasn't them. Then who the heck was it.

"You bring the packet here" I pointed at the guard.

I saw him slowly walking toward me, I hurriedly took the packet out of his hands and opened it.

There was only a piece of paper in it. I took it out and started reading it.

"Dear Cousin,

I knew you would eventually find out about me starting up my own gang and obviously the fire that I started in your factory. This is only the beginning my dear cousin, there's much more to come. Beware! Keep your eyes open, you have no idea what is happening right under your eyes. I'll give you a little hint, get your security checked.

Have a nice and we will definitely meet soon.

This fucker, he just started a fucking war with me. I dismissed the guards and left for the house.

"Listen up, i need you to meet me at 8 precisely, I'll be waiting" I said ending the call.

Let this war begin..
