Chapter 24 Finding Rowena

"How old are you?" She was asked
"I'm 5..." She said she didn't look 5, she looked 7 or 8 years old...

~ Chapter 24 Finding Rowena ~

New character

Rowena's (POV)

"Mummy... Mummy!!!" I screamed as tears blurred my vision just as bad as the snow that was falling.

"Little girl. She's not coming back. Why do you think she is?" A stranger said to her

He put his jacket on me seeing that I was cold without a really good jacket. I cried harder, not caring who saw me cry. I needed my mom. She said she would come right back. Well its been a long time. A hour so far. I cried wanting her back.

"She's my mummy!" I screamed my hair bounced with every step that I took. All I could see behind me was red curly hair. But it wasn't like it was really that curly. It was just waves and that type of curl.

He put his hands in my hair. I didn't like it.

"Rowena!" Janet said

"Where's mother Janet?" I asked throwing off the jacket and gave it back to the stranger. I ran from his grasp.

"She got in trouble, honey." She said as she ran to me.

"Mummy... Mummy..." I said this time I could help but cry wanting to scream "What happened to her?"

"Someone hit her. He was drunk." She said "Let's go. She said I had to protect you if anything ever happened." She said as she put her hand in her pocket and pulled out a crystal. A pretty one.

"I want you to have this." She said when she got on her knees then she put it in my hands. "You know what I am. This is a blood crystal. It's to protect you. All you have to do is kiss it or use your blood, but please promise me you won't use the second one unless you can't kiss it." She said as she looked in my eyes.

"Janet, I promise I will try not to use the second one." I said as she picked me up.

"Now let's go to my house. We got a girl named Zoe who lives with us now. She's Jake's mate." I laughed

"I never knew he had a mate." I said

"Well, she's pregnant." She said I saw how her voice changed with the subject.

"I thought you guys can't have children." I said my head spinning with questions.

"I thought so too." She said silently

I was wearing black today. Actually the whole family of Jake's was wearing black. They all knew my mother, except Zoe. But she said she'd be part of the funeral for me.

My red locks were loss getting messed up by the wind. And my hazel eyes were dull. They didn't have the sparkle in them that they had for my mother.

Zoe came over to me and hugged me. She tried to calm me down, but it didn't really work. I lost my mother to a drunk... A drunk driver. I didn't even get to say I love you one more time. I started to cry at that. I cried as Zoe held me. As she rocked me back and forth saying that my mother was lucky to have an angel like me. She was really nice once I got to know her. She made room in her heart for me unlike a lot of people that pushed me aside out of there life. Like my father... My mother never told me his name.

"Zoe, Zoe..." I whimpered she got surprised but continued the love. I think she gives too much away, but then she has lovely Jake.

"Rowena you're special. If you think about it." She said then I saw her scar on her neck. I reached up to trace it. She stopped when I traced her scar.

"When did you get this?" I asked her

"4 weeks ago." She said then she put one hand on her stomach.

"Can I feel?" I asked I saw she had a bump, but it hasn't gotten really any bigger.

"Yes, Rowena. You can." She said calmly "but one rule. Be careful. You don't want to hurt my child." She said I nodded

"I will be careful." I said as she lifted her shirt up to let me fell. She did have a really small bump.

I put my hand on her stomach. It felt pretty normal except for the bump. "Your going to be a beautiful baby." I said as I tried talking to it.

"Rowena, I don't even know how many I'm having. I get to find that out next week. You want to come to my ultrasound?" She said

I started squealing. "Yes Zoe. I want to go with you and Jake to see how many you're going to have." I said she nodded

"Okay you're in. Make it lunch for the three of us." She said and smiled and gave me a kiss on my forehead.

"Yes." I said as I lightly hugged her.

That's when I heard gasping. It was Janet and Zoe's mother.

"Zoe, when did this happen?" Her mother said

Zoe looked down at her tummy. Her shirt was still up. And she had a bump that made her look almost 1 and a half months pregnant while she was only 1 month through.

"A month ago." She said as she put me down.

"Go run along. I don't want you hear this." She said

By her eyes I knew that it was her mother and she was going to get yelled at.

"Hi, Zoe's mother." I said as I ran off like Zoe told me to do.

I listened anyway.

"What were you thinking?" She said

"I know." She said as she held her tummy.

"You just meet this guy a little over a month ago. And now you're carrying his baby." She said

I rolled my eyes. Her mother hated her because she was pregnant and carrying a baby. Jake's baby.

"Boo!" Janet said from behind me.

"Awe!!" I screamed because she scared me.

"What you listening to?" She asked

"Nothing really." I answered and ran off

She started laughing. I smiled. I was mad at Zoe's mother for treating her the way she did. She is really mean...
