~Chapter 1 An Abandoned Lake~
(Zoe's POV)
I looked at my watch as a saw my mother moving a box to the kitchen. It was just a little after noon but around here it got dark fast so expecting more then 8 hours of sun was unacceptable.
She flashed me a smile. "We're not gonna be leaving anytime soon Zoe. So keep a clear head. Smile, run, enjoy the sunshine. There's nothing that could have prevented us moving," she mumbled as I shook my head as a frown appeared on my face. I thought that she would listen to me and we would go home, but that wasn't as simple as it looked.
"I don't want to be here," I said as I grabbed a plastic stress ball and threw it.
"Your temper is gonna have to change," my mother mumbled as she sighed. "Go-- take a walk," she said as she grabbed the bouncing ball and placed it in a box that she just brought in as she started mumbling words under her breath.
I decided that it would be best to just leave, but something was always dragging the way I walked home, but she did mention going on a walk.

I sat down on a strange little fence near a lake that looked calm and abandoned. It was a lake in the middle of a forest. The first place where a would occur. "Perfect," I groaned. "Just perfect. Exactly what I needed," she said as she closed her eyes and leaned against the fence that rose a few feet from the ground. It looked old. Too old to even have a coat of paint on it, but strangely it held itself up straight.I closed my eyes as the sun started to say it was practically two pm. The sun never told the time wrong it was always the people who did.
Little did I know that I was slowly falling asleep on land that I didn't know. Who knew, it was possibly owned by cranky owners and stumbling upon a stranger. Oh man...

I woke up and looked toward the lake as I saw a guy sitting on the dock with one hand in his pocket and the other in the water. He looked at the like if it was something he did normally and that possibly he did it daily.
I walked up to him and poked him in the back. Not really a nice to do, but it was like if he didn't notice my heavy steps as I walked up to him. He turned around as I saw his eyes.
Once upon a time I thought all eye colors were ugly, but as soon as he turned around I was starstruck.
He gave a weak smile that I barely caught. " You found me," he mumbled dreamily. I chuckled. I couldn't tell if he was joking around with me or if... Or if I really did find him.
"But I don't know you," I said slowly. I think I started to regret that line. 'But you could get to know him, Zo.'
"Well, you may want to know me then, " he said as he pulled me by my hands. His eyes drawing me in as I wondered who this dude possibly could be and last of all why was he being so... So nice.

It took me what felt an hour to see what was going on. The lake was like if it was welcoming old friends as we stood in it to the waist.
He splashed me as I tried to hold my breath. I laughed as the water hit me. He smiled at me. He eventually asked if I wanted to swim with him. All it took for him to decide that it was a yes was when I smiled at him.
"Be careful," he said silently as he warned me of something, "there are sharks," he said as we both began laughing as hard as we could. No one ever got me to laugh that hard before. No one that I knew for a fact.
We got into the shallow end when I found his hands in my hair, and my arms wrapped around his waist. For some reason I didn't know how we ended up like this, but I don't know. None of this was wrong, anything that I knew about it wasn't. I was allowed to have a boyfriend, I was sure I was allowed to date, I was practically allowed to do whatever I wanted to do, but have a child.
As I kept watching him I noticed something strange. It was like he was looking me in the eyes but he wasn't, he was looking through me, into my soul. My soul which wasn't white I knew that, but then it wasn't black either. It was something else, something special that only he knew about.
"You don't know how long I've been looking for you." He said pleading with his eye. He wanted me to be something... To be his girl? He wanted me to be in love? Ya, right... Maybe he was drunk? But I didn't see him drinking nor did I see any bottles.
"I've waited a long time to fall in love with someone. You want to be the first?" I said kidding around but after all i was telling the truth.
"Hell yeah girl." He said softly . At that moment he pulled me into a kiss A kiss that drove me insane... Well, maybe both of us. I kissed him back. After that he pulled away pleased as he starred into my eyes. I hissed at him for stopping. It was the best feeling that I ever felt right at the moment. I loved the feeling, I hated the feeling, but something told me he was dangerous. That he wasn't like us... That he was a Bad Boy from the wrong part of the city. I didn't care. I felt he was mine. He had to be mine. I had to be his. But what if someone was already his and this was just a game?
'Well, he's not drunk.' I thought smiling to myself. I couldn't believe it. My first kiss was to a Bad Boy. 'Well, how bad is this so called Bad Boy?' I smiled at the thought of it.
He chuckled as he looked at me, bringing me back to reality.
"Tomorrow, same place, Here." He said silently looking around showing me where to meet him. He pointed to the water. "The lake, we'll meet again. One o'clock?" He asked me. I didn't even know his name, he neither did he have mine. I looked at the sky as I saw it was getting dark. It seemed like if it was almost six or seven p.m.
"Sure, but first what's your name?" I said as I approached him, entwining our fingers together. I looked down at his hands and then looked back up with a smile. 'He's mine' I thought wondering how many hearts have been broken because of him. I just hoped it wasn't too many if not none at all.
"Jake." He said leaning down to my face level. I smiled. "And you?" He said silently. He was only about 2 inches away from my lips. I wanted him. He had to be mine.
"Zoe" I said leaning in making the 2 inches disappear. He went crazy with me being so close he kissed me without realizing it until he pulled away.
