*Dean's POV*

"Cas!" I practically screamed over the loud music at the man that was unconsious on the bar floor. "Cas, can you hear me?" I asked. He opened his eyes part way.

"D.. Dean.. What happened..?" He asked, looking confused.

"I asked you if you wanted to get a drink with me and you fainted.." I reminded him, my tone full of embarrassment. I should have lied, said he had too much to drink but I can't undo it now.. "So.. Do you know the answer?" I could feel my face turning red.

"Dean.. You're probably doing this for a dare or something, not truly meaning it so, no. If you meant it, I'd gladly say yes but you don't, you know, like people the same gender as you." Castiel said, his expression was a mix of sadness, embarrassment, and annoyance. I instantly felt bad, how the hell do you reply to that.

"Well, what if we got to know each other better, then would you?" I asked, hoping it would make him feel better. Failed.

"Like I said, Dean, you don't like guys. Also, what's there to learn about each other, you're a jock and I'm a dorky college kid on the debate team, complete opposites. And from what I've experienced, opposites do not attract." He said, standing up. "I have to go. Bye, Dean." He turned away from me and walked out of the bar. Well, now I hurt the guy.

"Cas, wait." I said as he walked out. It was too late, he was already gone. I stood up from the floor and walked out the door, trying to find the sad man. I looked to my left, no one. I looked to the right, I saw him. "Cas!" I said, jogging to catch up to him. "What if we get to know each other as friends..?" I asked. I knew I'd hurt him, the least I can do is be his friend. He looked over at me with disbelief.

----------

I didn't believe what was coming out of his mouth. Us, friends? Hah. I could tell he was trying to be sympathetic with me.

"How do I say this lightly. Dean, you don't talk to people like me, only jocks and cheerleaders so why bother to try to be my friend. You're only doing it out of sympathy like everyone else." He stopped walking. He took me by the shoulders and stared into his bright green eyes.

"Maybe I really do want to be your friend. Maybe I really did feel bad for you all these years and wish I could talk to you. But you never thought of it, did you? Why? Because I'm good at hiding those kinds of things. Castiel, you don't know me, just the shell around me, now, about being friends, is that a yes?" He said, looking more sympathetic than he ever has before. It seemed like he was telling the truth but I'll never know.

"Maybe, I"ll have to sleep on it. I'll call you once I get the answer, but I'll need your number." I said. Dean looked away from me and released his grip on my shoulders, I wish he had kept them there. I wish I could just pull him into a kiss but all he wants to be is friends but I'm still not 100% sure he is telling the truth. Dean pulled out his phone and asked for my number. After we exchanged numbers, I started walking home as he drove the other way. I opened the door to Madisyn sitting on the couch, staring at her phone, smiling.

"Cas! Do you know Sam Winchester?!" She practically screamed. I flinched at the volume of her voice.

"I don't know him but obviously I know his brother. Why?" I asked nervously.

"He asked me to go to the party at his house tomorrow!" She screeched. I raised my eyebrow. Why didn't Dean tell me that he was having a party. I said nice and went to my room in the attic. Should I ask Dean about it.. I decided I would

"Dean, my sister told me that Sam invited her to a party he's having at his house.."

"What?! Sam can't be having a party, my dad would kill him!"

"Hang on, I'll ask Madisyn about it." I walked back down to the living room.

"Hey, Mady, Where's Sam's dad going to be during the party?" She glared back at me.

"I don't need another dad, Cas, but Sam said that he's going to be out of town for the week so he decided to have a party." I texted Dean what she said.

"Oh, he's dead, he's not going to have a party if I'm there, want to help me crash it?" I smiled.

"Sure, will this be the way we're getting to know each other or just crashing a teens party?"

"We'll see when it happens. But you're saying we can get to know each other sometime?"

"Dean, you really doubted the fact I would say yes? You just have to prove it when the time comes."

----------

I smiled as I continued texting Cas. I don't know, maybe I did like him. No, only as a friend.. Ugh, this is difficult..
