I bolted as soon as the pie hit Kade's face. I heard him open the door behind me and footsteps following me.
A wall of fire appeared before me and I stopped.

I opened the door to my left, another hall, Good.
I ran to the door on the other end of the room and the door opened in my face.

"Karma!" I heard Kade yell from behind me.
He helped me up and then we turned to the man in the doorway.

"Sorry master Ignis." Kade's head went down.
"It's quite alright prince. You still have some pie on your shirt." The man spoke.

"Why don't you introduce me to your friend."
"Yes sir, this is princess Mist of the shadows." Kade said.
I'd never seen anyone bow so quickly.

"I'm sorry I opened the door on your face, please forgive me."
I bent down to the level the man was on.
"Sir, I'm sorry I ran into your door." I laughed.

"What is your job here at the castle?" I was suddenly curios as to why Kade had called him master.
"I am a master fire, your majesty, and Kade here is my apprentice." His voice now enthusiastic.

"Master Ignis is teaching me how to control lightning." Kade turned to me.
Lightning?

"Ah, your majesty, as you are a shadow of you master the shadow art, you can turn into a shadow, or you don't even need to master it, you just need to have strong shadow magic in your blood."

Shadows? Me, turn into a shadow?
Please.

Kade and I were walking to his room so he could get a non-pie shirt when a little girl, no more than twelve, jumped out in front of us.
She held a letter out to me and then vanished without a trace.

I opened the letter up and read aloud
"Princess Mist Night and prince Kade Worth, you are to report to the throne room in fifteen minutes, a citizen from town would like to see you."

I shrugged and Kade and I continued our walk.
Ryan came around the corner, Jess followed suit.

I quickly learned that they were lifemates.
They were running, shock was written all over their faces.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"There's a really angry shadow here for you. She make some shadow roamers and we had to kill them." Ryan explained.

Okay, that was not good.
I started running.

Shadow roamers were nothing short of evil.
I used shadows to shove open the grand door.
A few metres away from the throne stood a girl with red hair.

She turned to face me and the world stopped.
This girl looked exactly like mom.
She wore a moonstone ring.

"Mist?" the girl asked.
She ran up to me and hugged me.
I stuffed and then hugged the little girl back, she seemed about fifteen.

"Oh, Mist, you look so much like dad."
Did that mean?
She pulled back.

"You look confused as shit. Dad never told you, did he?" she asked.
I shook my head and then the sounds of footsteps coming to a stop sounded behind me.

"Mist, I'm sorry, I had to help kill some roamers." Kade voice filled the room.
He put his hand in mineas I stepped back from the girl.

"My name is Lily Night. I am Mist's long lost sister."

So this is what happened.
My dad was still my real dad, but Belinda was not my real mother.

My mother a pure shadow, but a dark shadow, she turned good when she met my father, then my uncle, Marcus, killed her because she was a dark blood.

I was born after their wedding, a year before her death.
A few years later he fell in love, the woman wasn't his lifemate, but he wasn't hers either. They had both lost their mates.

Belinda was Lily's mother.
My mother's name was Artimiss.

The reason they had killed my father was because he didn't have any power because he lost his life mate.l, and they couldn't use him.

Kade held my hand when I was told the brutal murder of my mother, they had tortured her, burnt her, drowned her.

Lily got up and hugged me.
"Hey, it's Okay. It's Okay."

Then Kade joined the hug and the weirdest thing happened.
Out of nowhere Lily spoke up.
"Kade, why do you smell like lemons?"

We laughed.
Then it hit me, a weird feeling I'd often heard Jess speak of, love.
I was in love, with Kade, and did that mean...

Kade was my lifemate...
