Lucian and my's bond grew over time. He'd told me stories of his past, of his friends, his family. Of his insane crush on me when we'd first met in the market, the time I'd given a young arrogant thief a shadow coin.

I smiled at the memory. I kept to myself that back then I thought he was very attractive, his blackish hair a wild mess and his eyes enchanting. I could feel myself blush.

A seriousness came over him and he looked at me as we spoke, "We need to go. They'll come back for you. They want you dead, we have to run."

I looked at him. Yes. That made sense... But what about Aura... What about our friends...

As if reading my mind he pulled me closer. "We'll tell them before we go. Just a month so I can figure out how to control so much power. And so you can learn about yours. Please... I need to keep you safe. I don't want to lose you again..." he looked me in the eye. Even after so many years his eyes were still stunning.

I hugged him and buried my face in his neck. His scent overcoming me. Home. He smelt like home. "Okay," I whispered and I felt him relax.

That night, under the cover of darkness we left Aura and traveled to the outskirts of Ashen to a farmhouse surrounded by fields covered with small white flowers. It was beautiful. And after a few days we began our training. One month and I'd be in Dreamen again. One month to become more powerful. One month to find out how I was going to rule.

I watched her as she gazed out at the fields covered in flowers. They were called fire lillies. They were rare and absolutely beautiful. A lot like the girl who had saved me. More than once.

She'd given me my power back... And she saved me when I was a young arrogant street thief. Stealing to survive. She'd given me a coin. And that day I swore if I ever met her again I would have an unplayable debt which I owed her. Yet she still gave me more than what I deserved. I love her. Ignis, I love her.

This was my home. Kade had helped me find that out, I was a Duke... Odd I know. But my family had died and I was thought to be dead so my uncle had the title. Oh well. I had the girl he could keep the title. It dawned on me... Would this princess want me to be her king? I shook the worry from my head. I loved her it didn't matter.

I walked up to her and hugged her by her waist and buried my face in her neck. Her hair soft and smelling like roses. I closed my eyes. She was real, and she was mine. And I would protect her. Even at the cost of my life. I turned her around and kissed her in the sunlight.

One month... And we'd have to face the world again... But for now... I'd live in the moment.
