I lay with my arm over my eyes.
"Come on! Get up!" my sister threw open the curtains.
Today was time to face the music.
Wedding plans. How fun?
I got thrown in the head with an orb of water.

"Morning Jess." I said, annoyed.
I heard then grab something and whispers started.
It sounded like. Oh no...

I turned into a shadow to avoid the fruit juice coming my way.
I was up.
I reappeared. My hair dripping Jess's water.

"Well, at least I don't need a shower."
I said sarcastically under my breath.

Kade waited patiently through another hour of his mother droning on about his and Mist's wedding.

SOS. Mist sat agitated.
She'd had enough.
She stood and started pacing.

"So, Son. What do you suggest we do for a colour scheme, besides red?"
Red for fire.
Mist froze beside him.
"Gold." she spoke and she looked less like an animation.
Gold? What?

The room turned black with the shadows.
Behind Mist, hands on the back of her stool, stood her grandfather, king of the dark shadows.

The fire queen fainted.

Mist rested her forehead on the table.
"Thank goodness. That witch was giving me a headache." Mist lifted her head and looked at Kade.
"No offense." and her grandfather laughed.

"I just wanted to say good luck. And I would love to be invited." and he disappeared in the same manner he had appeared.
Mist and Kade got up and left the unconscious queen where she was.

Kade lead me to the stables.
The stable boy came towards us.
"Your highnesses." he bowed.
"Thomas, it's a great pleasure to see you here." the boy raised his head and blushed.
He looked to be about 14 years old, he still had a boyish face.

"Can you please bring Dragon and Spirit out."
He nodded and left to find our amicus.
As the boy opened for Dragon, a snort by my neck made me jump.
Spirit was behind me.

Sorry I scared you. Spirit apologised.
I rubbed her forehead.
"It's fine." she let out a soft snort.

Dragon stopped by Kade.
I watched as they looked at each other, hearing only half a conversation.
Eventually he turned to me.
"Get them saddled up, there's an intruder at the castle wall."

Doing as I was told we made quick time of saddling the horses.
Mounting, and at a  galloping pace, it took us few minutes to reach the wall.

A man stood there, staring.
His grin showed no kindness.
Well this was the reason why Jess had ended it with him.
