Chapter 14- Necklace from the Dark

I ran around like crazy trying to find Jess.
A knock sounded at the door as I passed.

Shocked I opened it.
Nothing? That's not right. Someone had knocked.

I turned into a shadow and screamed. No one would hear my scream cause I was in shadow form.
A girl stood in front of me.
She looked around. She wouldn't see me, I was a royal grey, allowing me to see other shadows but they couldn't see me without me touching them.

I visualized again and spoke, "I know you are there dark shadow. Reveal yourself."
The girl materialised.

"Sorry. I'm looking for Kade or Lucian or Jess." how did she know them?

"Who are you? This way." I asked and started walking her towards my study.
"I am Millicent. I'm an exiled dark shadow." interesting...

Kade came out of the training hall, which was a door before my study.
He looked surprised when he saw Millicent.
"Milli?" he said.

She nodded and ran up to him and kissed him...
What the hell!

He tensed. "Milli. Please no..." he started.
"What's wrong? You just disappeared. No trace, I was worried." She spoke rushed, wrapping her arms around him.

I looked Kade in the eye.
"So much for love. If you're looking for me, I'll be in the dark shadow realm." was all I said before I disappeared into the dark shadow realm. She wouldn't be able to follow for she was exiled from there.

Kade's P.O.V

The hurt that had shone in her eyes had killed Kade.
Millicent was well, you could say his girlfriend. Well soon to be ex in a few minutes.

"Who was that?" she asked.
"That Milli, was Princess Mist Night." he hardly called her Mist anymore, he hardly spoke to her lately.

"Oh My Shadows! That was the future queen! She's so ugly! And you have to marry her! This is outrageous! I'm talking to your father." she burst out.

The rooms temperature rose.
"I don't love you! That is my lifemate that you're badmouthing. Get out of my castle now!"

Kade's anger had flipped.

She looked at him in the eye, "She might be your lifemate, but I know you don't love her. You promised as long as I have this necklace you'd only love me." she pulled the necklace out of her pocket that he had given her five years ago.

Kade forgot about what was happening. All he could see was Millicent.

She laughed and he forgot what he was doing in this castle. All he remembered was Jess and Ryan. Lucian and Jem. That was it.
He felt as if he was forgetting someone... But who...

Lucian's P.O.V

Lucian was about to turn the corner when he heard two familiar voices.
Kade and... Millicent?

He peered around the corner, and quickly ducked back.
Milli and Kade were well, a couple, surly Kade would end it, he had Mist now.

But... Something was off...
Kade was saying he loved Millicent...

No. That's not right.
Lucian stood and walked around the corner.
As he hit the middle of the hall Mist appeared on the other side.

Kade was kissing Milli.

Mist let out a sob and Lucian just missed the wave of shadow that hit Millicent and threw her to the ground where he had been standing seconds before.

Her eyes glared gold, giving away her dark shadow heritage.

"Well, well... It seems our princess is dark." she smirked.

Lucian ran up to Kade who was beginning to advance on Mist, his gaze hateful.

What the hell!

Mist looked at Kade. Her eyes showing both love and hatred.
Kade's was just hate.

Milli got up, a necklace swaying in her hands. The necklace that Kade had got for her, the necklace that had started their relationship. The necklace that was glowing purple?

It was enchanted!

Drawing his sword Lucian advanced on Millicent. He cut her arm that held the necklace and it dropped, breaking.

"Nooooooooooooo..!" Millicent screamed.

She fell to the floor. Kade froze, a fireball on its way towards Mist who was stuck in a corner.

It hit her and she fell.
Kade fell to the floor with her...

Jess's P.O.V
-----

Jess ran around the castle her white dress flowing out behind her.
When she saw the scene in front of her she froze.
Mist was on the floor, Kade holding her.
Lucian had a sword to the throat of... Millicent?

Forgetting Lucian and Milli, she ran to Mist.
Kade kept murmuring "I love you." in her ear.
Fire had hit her chest. Drawing water out of the plants around the hallway she brought it to Mist's chest and began healing it.

When her skin looked normal and her breathing a little more even did she stand to look at Milli.

A silence spread through the castle.
Jess's wedding was in 6 hours and Mist was lying unconscious.

Great!

Kade turned towards Millicent. "You are banished from the realm of shadow and fire. If you are found in either kingdom you will be excicuted, you have 2 hours to leave Dreamen."

And in a wave of shadow, Millicent disappeared...
