-------------------------------------------------------------

Kade was my lifemate.
It all made sense.
That was why his touch always made me feel warm, not hot, warm, fuzzy on the inside.
How his touch felt like electricity running down my skin.

He knew it too.

We dropped Lily off in one of the spare rooms. There were no shortage of those.

"Ah, so... You no when I told you about lifemates?" Kade spoke up.
"Yeah, I remember, why do you ask?"
"Oh, I think I just found my lifemate."
"Oh," so maybe it wasn't him.
I looked away.

Kade watched the shadow on her balcony.
She was creating hearts and then breaking them.

She gazed up at the moon, and he could have sworn the moon gazed back at her.
He was hidden away, clothed in black.

To think, she was his lifemate...

She spread her hands out in front of her and released shadows in a wave.
Her power was strong, especially since she was a grey.

A dark and light shadow mix.
They were rare, dark shadows were banned from entering Aura.
The kingdom thought she was just a plain light shadow, no one knew the truth about her mother.

Then she saw him.
She got up and the balcony and jumped...JUMPED.

The wave of shadows consumed her.
She stepped out of the dark, her golden hair flying out behind her.

Her eyes changed from their hazel to a gold when she used her powers, telling the truth about her heritage.

He lit fire orbs around them.
She seemed cold, and he sure as hell didn't like it.
"Mist, what's wrong?" he asked.
No answer...

No, he knew what was happening.
She looked at him, then he saw the pain wash through her.

She fell forward into his arms and she was unconscious.

"Ah, granddaughter. It's such a pleasure to meet you." the man on the shadow throne spoke.
I backed away.

"What, where am I?" all I remember was seeing Kade, then nothing...

"I see you posses dark shadow power, courtesy of my daughter."
My mother, the one dark shadow to come into Aura in centuries.

"My dear I have to warn you."
He stood and walked up over to me.
"Many dark shadows have changed. The only difference is the strenght of our powers. You have dark blood as well which makes you stronger. You need that strenght. A dark force looms all over the boarders of Tenebris.

Tenebris is the land of the roamers. You need to stop it, a roamer king has taken over the fire king. His soul still fights. You need to save him." he spoke wise words.

The old man hugged me.
"Your lifemate is worried sick, at least your lifemate is the prince you are being forced to marry, that's rare. I promis to teach you to master the shadow art."

And I knew he would.
"The only thing that you have left to do, is find a reason to change into a shadow."
Then everything swirled and tilted and then went black. Again.

I groggily opened my eyes. I was in someone's arms in my bed.
"Agh, I smell lemons." Kade was holding me.
"Well this one person shoved a pie in my face, so that is to be expected."

He laughed and I felt the sound rumble in his chest.
He held me tighter.
"You have me such a fright. I was so scared, I didn't no what to do."
I looked up at his eyes.

Chocolate brown eyes swirling with emotion looked back at me.
He leaned his head forward and just as his mouth was inches away, he kissed my forehead and got up.

"Well, I'll see you at 18.30 tomorrow for our date." He smiled sheepishly and walked out the room humming to himself.

Did he not notice that moment we had just had? Clearly not.
Guys!

I sighed and lay back down on the bed, my mind wondered and I saw him, or I thought I did.

The fire king was in a dark room filled with shadows. He sat over a map, at the top of the map there was a name, Tenebris."

It felt like a rubber band snapping.
I was launched back into my body.

The next morning was hectic.
I had several meetings with the Council, they still didn't trust me that much, all except for the waters.

I also hadn't seen Jess since the incident.
I missed my best friend.
I wandered around when I had nothing to do, hoping to meet someone new, or see someone I knew.

I was on the east wing on the lower floors when I heard it.
Barking.

I followed the sound and opened the door to the kennels.
Cages were lined full of dogs waiting to be loved.
They were all hunting dogs.

"Come on, princesses Jessica, you can't be serious. Your lifemate is the captain of the guard." She heard Titan, the waters advisor say from the back of the kennels.

"He is, and I was to marry him, and you, Titan, cannot stop me."
A loud wack came from the other end of the row.
Jess came running my way soon followed by Titan.

He had just slapped her. I had just seen it.
Jess saw me and I shoved her behind me.
I pulled a wall of shadow up and held it up in front of Titan, he was coming to fast to stop and plummeted into the shadows.

"Bitch! You filthy dark shadow bitch!"he yelled at me.

"Asshole. You do not hit a lady, let alone a princess, and now you have five seconds to get out of my sight or I swear I will kill you." I screamed and dropped the shadow wall.

He ran so fast I swear he was an air not a water.
I turned to Jess.
She hugged me.
"Mist, I'm training to become a master water." a master water.
That means she's training to be able to control blood.

I nodded. Okay, I'm glad she's my best friend.
We walked out the door and started down the corridor when Kade and Ryan came running up.

"What happened? Titan was running like something was chasing him." Ryan looked at me.

"No roamers, only a very angry shadow." Jess pointed at me and I grinned.
Jess and I looked at each other and laughed.

It's was 18.00 when I arrived at my room.
I fell on the bed only to have Lily rush into my room.
"Come on, your dates in half an hour."

Kade. Date. Half and hour?
Oh crap.

I jumped into action.
Lily got me ready in record time and then we sat laughing about how Titus had run away from me.

She apparently had been there when the advisor had resigned.
The waters now looked upon their princess, Queen Ashleigh's cousin Jess.

Then a knock echoed through the room.
Lily and I got up and she opened the door.
Kade stood dressed in a red shirt and jeans.
He looked at me and his mouth was practically hanging open.

I was just wearing a purple dress.
Lily shoved me out the door and I almost fell over.
"See you tomorrow Mist." she yelled at me before closing the door.

Kade took my hand in his, the touch comforting.
"So where are we going?" I asked and when I turned my head to face him, he was grinning at me...
