Doubt and Regret

#The timeline is when Jing and Lu Cang was separated after the case with Zhang Zi Dong.

Doubt

"Big Brother!! Tonight let's go out again. There is this beauty we want to introduce to you."

Lu Cang only made a wry smile for his brothers' insistent..

He lifted his head to gaze at the vast and melancholy crimson sky. His mind flew to certain someone again.

These days, since returned from the Capital due to some circumstances, Lu Cang's brothers had consistently dragged him all around Hangzhou and busily introduced him to Hangzhou's famous beauties. They still lived in the big house which Jing had arranged for them to stay. The reason was because it was way convenient for them. Every single night they would go out to various places to entertain their still looks so down Big Brother.

Lu Cang knew, his sinking mood had affected his brothers, yet, it was not easy to hide his heartbroken state.

Heartbroken.....

Another bitter smile appeared on Lu Cang's face. The crimson sky had gradually turned to dusk. The first brilliant star had made its spark. The same brilliance spark in that person's bottomless dark eyes.

From the beginning, it was only his one sided love. It was him who madly in love with that beautiful man. He was so in love with that wicked Emperor, to the point he was willing to compromise and yield only to be able to stay by his side. He also degraded himself by accepting all the humiliation from the hateful courtiers.

Was all of it worth? Had Jing ever loved him?

'What's wrong? Having a bad mood? Who offended and made you upset again?'

Recalling Jing's sweetness and gentleness only caused his heart hurt even more. He thought it was the way Jing showed him his love.

But apparently, his love was nothing but an illusion. Illusion created by Lu Cang's yearning heart.

Jing was the Supreme Ruler. There was nothing in this world he couldn't get. He would have no problem at all to find another toy to play with. He would find in no time another man like Lu Cang. Especially given his honorable status and his divine appearance.

Upon this thought, Lu Cang couldn't help but have his heart squeezed by pain. He had been discarded and tossed aside by that beautiful to the utmost Emperor. He was not allowed to be by that honorable Emperor's side anymore.

His heart was not broken. His heart was already scattered to pieces and it would be impossible to be cured. What left in him now was nothing but his pride.His pride as a man.

Lu Cang understood, for all of his life, he would never be able to love again. Jing was his one and only love. Yet, Jing's love was something he could never acquire. Jing's heart was unreachable for someone like Lu Cang. A mere replaceable male pet.

The bitterness that flooding all of his senses made him knitted his brows and crooked his lips in pain.

The very name that could make every kinds of emotion in his very self undulating in a fierce billow.

Drawing in a mouthful of cold air, Lu Cang closed his eyes to prevent the forming tears from rolling down.

Even though it would be the most impossible thing to do, Lu Cang had to bury that name in the deepest part of his soul. He knew he couldn't completely erase the name from his life, even so, he still desperately wished that he could forget it. Someday....
