Honeymoon Trip - part 1
The sound of the nightly insects was echoing as if answering to one another. The mist had started to form to add the freezing cold night. Illuminating by the moonlight, two tall and slender figures walked leisurely.
"Jing... We have walked for so long, yet I still can't see the light from the villagers' houses."
"Mmm." Answering him with a hum, Jing looked up to the sky filled with glittering stars to check on their direction.
"Don't tell me... Are we lost?"
"Don't be silly. There is no way we could be lost in this little forest."
Lu Cang gave him his disbelief look. Jing pretended that he didn't see Lu Cang's doubtful expression.
"Anyway, let's find a place to spend the night. I don't want us to be exposed to the night air. Especially you."
Lu Cang snorted at his mocking remark.
"What are you talking about? I had lived in mountain since as long as I could remember and often stayed out in the open without any problems. This is nothing to me. That aside, how to find a place to stay if even a single hut also couldn't be seen?"
Jing cast him a sideway glance. Frowning, he obviously irritated at Lu Cang's matter of fact statement. A soft sighing before he put his hand around Lu Cang's shoulder to pull him closer.
Truthfully, Jing almost had forgotten that Lu Cang used to live a wild and unrestrained life as a Bandit King. He used to be lively and rebellious. Unbounded by rules. Fearless and free-spirited.
But since he chose to live by Jing's side, he had to give up all of his past as a compensation. He couldn't be a Bandit King and the Emperor's lover at the same time. Jing would never let him choose the same path as Yong Yi. To stand in front of him on the other side and oppose him. Jing would never let the tragedy to be happened again, thus, he forcefully made the decision for Lu Cang, not allowing him to be hesitating, not allowing him to leave his side.
Jing attentively fixed his eyes on Lu Cang's. The strong and fierce light had been replaced by a soft and melancholy spark.
Hit by his guilty conscience, Jing gave him a gentle apologetic kiss. Vowed that he wouldn't let Lu Cang regretted his decision.
"Of course this is nothing to you. But I still don't feel like spend the night outside."
Lu Cang just gave him a shrug.
"Commander Ding will scold me if he happens to know that his dearest Emperor spend the night in the open."
"And you? Won't you be sad if I have to stay outside? Am I not your dearest one?"
Lu Cang tried hard not to roll his eyes.
"Jing.... Please. Is this the right time and place to flirt?"
Jing melodious laughter filled the tranquil night at once.
"You are so reserved even though it is only the two of us. Since there is no one except us, why don't you just relax and more gentle towards me?"
Lu Cang said nothing. Yet, he didn't immediately retort like he used to be mean that he seriously thinking about it. Jing secretly smiled to himself.
"Eh! A house!" Jing pointed at a small house about twenty steps from their standing place. "Let's go!"
From the neat and clean yard, Lu Cang assumed that the house was not just some random abandoned house. The owner must still stay in the house.
"Jing, let me...." Too late. Jing already barged in without even knocking. Lu Cang could only slap his own face.
