An Interview

What is love?

If you asked the Great Emperor of Datong, Emperor Jing Zong, without a doubt, without the slightest bit of hesitation, shamelessly he would answer :

"Love is Lu Cang."

For the high and mighty Emperor, Lu Cang himself represented the word 'love'. Without Lu Cang, he would lose the meaning of love. Without Lu Cang, his life would become loveless.

In short, Lu Cang's mere existence meant love.

What about you Lu Cang? What is love for you?

After considering for a while, he would say ; "Love is when you are willing to compromise and sacrifice even your life."

For the sake of his love, he made many compromises, to the point of sacrificing his free and unrestrained life as the Mountain Bandit King.

Willingly bounded in this huge prison called Palace just to be able to be with the one he loved.

Then, what do you do to show your love?

"What else than make love to the one you love every day and night?"

Jing firmly believed, by making love to Lu Cang and pouring his love into Lu Cang's body was the most effective way to show his love. By giving Lu Cang his utmost love was the most efficient way to assure Lu Cang about his affection.

"Err... Is it a must? Is it necessary to show your love? Isn't love something that you feel rather than you see or say?" Lu Cang's uncertainty in showing his love was caused by his own insecurity. He was afraid, by showing too much love, he would appear as if he had become an annoying possessive lover. Deep in the deepest part of his heart, the strong desire to monopolize Jing was buried. He would never let that dormant desire to awake, resurface and make him looked like those hateful Concubines who demanded Jing's full attention. No, he would never let Jing see this ugly side of him thus gave Jing reasons to despise him. That's why... His love for Jing was not to be shown nor to be said.

"Eh, Xiao Cang. If you don't properly say your feeling, how do you know that your feeling is conveyed to the other party?"

Of course the mischievous Jing couldn't be contented by Lu Cang's vague answer. Teasing Lu Cang with his usual playful tone, he asked as if he was extremely curious.

Lu Cang threw his gaze at the far away distance.

"If my feeling was not conveyed, then... That person must be the greatest idiot in this world!"

Indirectly regarded as the greatest idiot, Jing had a complicated feeling. But his amused self won over the annoyed self. He gave out a soundless chuckle before continued with his act.

"Hmm... You have such confident that your feeling is being conveyed. I bet that person must be the most fortunate person in the world!"

Lu Cang couldn't restrain himself from rolling his eyes.

"Indeed that person is the most fortunate person in the world. I, on the other hand, is the most miserable person in the world."

"Hoooo??? How so?? Please do tell.."

Lu Cang shrugged his shoulder. "My lifelong unlucky star is my fated one. What do you say? Aren't I the most miserable one?"

Jing put on a solemn face. Seemingly seriously considering Lu Cang's words.
