Lu Cang's Birthday

"Lu Cang, when is your birthday?" Jing asked out of the blue on one fine afternoon when they were spending their peaceful time together.

Lu Cang fell silent for a moment. Casting his eyes to the wavering willow tree, he answered in a soft voice. "I don't know. I was abandoned on the mountain when I was two or three. Father said, it was around early spring."

"Early Spring, huh?? My birthday is on early Spring. The ninth day of Spring. They say children who was born at that time would be blessed with all the best in the world." Jing was a bit strange. Of course Lu Cang knew about his birthday. Jing's birthday was celebrated by the whole nation after all. What Lu Cang couldn't comprehend was why Jing boasted about his blessings all of a sudden.

"Of course. You are the Emperor. You literally have the world under your feet."

Jing rolled his eyes. "As dense as usual..."

"What!? Don't use scholarly language on me. Just say what you want to say."

After staring at Lu Cang for a while, Jing made a 'I-give-up' gesture. "Since you were found around early Spring, I have decided that your birthday is the same day as mine."

Lu Cang burst out in a loud laughter.

"Why are you the one to decide on when is my birthday? Are you my mother?"

Jing slapped Lu Cang's head for his unnecessary comment.

"Stupid!! I want you to have the same blessings as me."

Lu Cang stopped his laughter at once. He was deeply moved by Jing's words.

Actually, simply by having Jing by his side, Lu Cang had considered himself to have the best as well as the worst of luck. He didn't have the audacity to wish for more. Let alone to share the same blessing with this Son of Heaven.

"Thank you... But... I don't deserve it."

"Alright. If you don't want to have the same birthday with me, then I will decree that everyday but my birthday is your birthday and I will have everyone celebrated it every day."

Lu Cang was dumbfounded. Given Jing's position, he might just do whatever on his whim.

"Alright..Alright... Let's share the same birthday."

Jing smiled so beautifully before printed a kiss on Lu Cang's sweet lips.

"Anyway, I'm not your mother. When we were married, I was your wife, but after that, I am your husband."

Jing busily dodged Lu Cang's angry fist while laughing at Lu Cang.

End.
