Our Parallel World
Life goes on even if your world is crumbling to pieces.
That phrase fitted perfectly to what happened in Lu Cang's life.
Facing the icy cold fair face in front of him, Lu Cang hardened his heart. Today, he had to end everything. A mere lousy substitute like himself was no longer had any use. Therefore, to prolong his pointless struggle was only to prolong his own misery.
By clenching his fingers tightly into a fist, he silently wished that he could draw enough courage to confront the man who had robbed everything of him. Not only his freedom, but his heart as well.
"Jing.. I mean, Your...." Lu Cang didn't even know how to properly address the beautiful man in front of him anymore. Once, they had a passionate relationship. So passionate that made Lu Cang lost his self esteem and shamelessly shook his ass to attract another male's attention. But now, the cold eyes in front of him held no traces of the past passion. The coldness was hurtful and Lu Cang could feel that his heart bleeding profusely from this man indifferent reaction.
Once again he mustered up all of his resolution, gazing straight to that cold eyes.
"Jing, give me the antidote. You have no need of me anymore since... So, please give me the antidote." Of course Lu Cang would have no courage to say 'since you already have the one you really love with all your heart by your side now', this kind of shameful words with the implication of jealousy. He was a man. How could he act like some jealous women who found their husband cheated on them. Furthermore, this was not a cheating in any form. This situation was simply a natural turn of event for a matter of course. Lu Cang was a mere plaything. A disposable toy once he had broken or when the master had grown tired of him. To be discarded was such fate which eventually would befall on him.
"And then?" Slightly jumped from the cold reply, Lu Cang lifted his lowered head to face the cruel man.
"What else beside return to my hometown?"
"And?"
What else? Of course to get as far as I can from the cause of my pain then bury all the unpleasant memories. All the painful one sided sentiment.
Lu Cang said none of his heartfelt feeling and remained silent. Lowered his gaze as to avoid seeing the void of any emotion eyes in front of him, also to hide his own swirling emotion. He was afraid that his eyes would betray him like they always did, --- revealing his true feeling. No matter what, with the parting drawing near, Lu Cang refused to let Jing laughed at his weakness and cowardness. Weak because he was wounded deeply by his unrequited love. Coward for he wanted to run away instead of directly asked and got the clear answer. He chose to run before he was chased out.
"Fine."
It was only one short words. Yet, Lu Cang felt that this one word had severed all of the thread that connected the both of them. The red thread of fate which had let them meet. Also the thin thread of hope in his heart.
Unconsciously he lifted his shocked eyes, ---flash of hurt was clearly shown. But those pair of beautiful eyes appeared as if he had nothing to do with whatever feeling displayed on Lu Cang's eyes. To say the truth, he expected Jing to put up a little objection. Or at the very least, showed a little shred of care. He had played a scene of drama in his head, --- a scene where Jing begged for him to stay while he stubbornly refused. However, he had overestimated his value in this man's heart once again. This cruel to the extreme man had shattered his imagination for the time he had lost count. Again and again. Reminding him that he had no value at all, he had no place at all in this man's heart.
