Games of Choices

"Xiao Cang. Let's play a game." Lu Cang shot the devil a sideway-glance. Normally, if this beautiful to the extreme man came up with a game, the loser would be obvious.

"No."

"Come on... This game will be fun. I promise you." Jing gave Lu Cang his dazzling smile. He strecthed his hand and gently stroke on Lu Cang's long hair.

Knowing that Jing was trying to coax him made Lu Cang feel even more doubtful. Lu Cang doubted it would be of any fun, surely it would be fun for Jing, but usually it would be none to Lu Cang's advantages. So, "No." Lu Cang flatly rejected his evil proposal.

"Okay. Let's start it."

Lu Cang rolled his eyes. Like always, Jing never took 'No' as an answer.

"You only need to choose and give me your reason for choosing it. But remember, you may not take too long to answer, or there will be a penalty for every late answer." Jing's smile had become even wider. It was as though he had found a new kind of splendid gem. Or more like had found a new way to make Lu Cang say embarrassing things since he knew very well how bad Lu Cang with words. He was determined to make Lu Cang admit he love Jing the most.

"What is the penalty?" Even if Jing didn't respond to his question, but by the way his eyes glittering in all excitement, Lu Cang could already make a rough guess. Lu Cang could only heave a heavy sigh. ---Again.

"First. The sun or candle?"

"Err... Candle." Although baffled by the sudden question, Lu Cang immediately gave his answer. He could think about the rest later, at the moment, most importantly, to reply as quick as possible to avoid the penalty.

"Why?"

"When the sun has set, people will need candle the most."

Jing nodded his head and seemingly all satisfied by Lu Cang's answer. "Next. Cat or dog?"

"Cat. Definitely. Because I hate dog!" Lu Cang firmly answer without hesitation. The incident with the Royal Dog Fuqi, in which he was seen by Jing in his sorriest state and the event following after was more than enough to make him hate dog.

As if could see what was Lu Cang thinking about, Jing's pleasant voice burst out in a laughter.

"Alright. Flower or grass?"

"Grass."

"Heeee.... Grass?? I thought you will choose flower since you obviously like beautiful things." For the first two answers, they were as Jing had expected, but the third answer was completely out of his prediction.

"Flower indeed beautiful, however, they are not blooming forever. But grass, though they are simple, but they are strong. No matter how many times they are trampled upon, they will stand upright by the next day." Actually, if Lu Cang wanted to be honest, he indeed preferred the flower over the grass. But once he thought of Jing's beautiful Royal Concubines as the flower, he suddenly disliked the flower. He rather be the grass than the beautiful fragile flower. After all, he couldn't be compared to those beauties in Jing's harem.

After stared at Lu Cang for quite some times, Jing finally broke a smile and kissed Lu Cang lightly on his lips. "Splendid answer. Then, a house or a mansion?"

"A house of course."

"Stars or gems?"

"Stars."

And the questions went on and on. Once in a while, they would stop to debate about the reason, or Jing would question his reason. But surprisingly, the game was just as Jing had said from the beginning. It was fun. Lu Cang even didn't realize that he was having fun in finding the correct reason to present to Jing.

"Last question. Love or freedom?"

Lu Cang fell silent at once. It would be a lie if he said he didn't want his freedom. But for this lifetime, freedom would only be a faraway dream for him, at least for now, for Jing still wanted him by his side.

"Hmm...."

Jing was so confident that Lu Cang would choose love, yet, upon seeing the hesitating Lu Cang, Jing also couldn't help but become anxious. What if Lu Cang still wanted to live with his sworn brothers and chose to leave Jing forever? His teasing smile gradually left his lips. He was waiting in anxiety for Lu Cang's answer.

But waiting was not Jing's strongest trait. In an instant he threw himself at Lu Cang and tightly held Lu Cang's whole person in his arms. If Lu Cang was a bird, Jing would tear apart his wings so that he could never fly away. From the very moment since he met Jing, Lu Cang could never choose freedom anymore.

How ironic. The once soaring freely up high prideful Eagle, now found his happiness in the cage called love. Lu Cang couldn't help but smile bitterly for his unspoken choice. It was obvious he had chosen love over his freedom. Why the need to announce it loudly. So embarrassing!

"Since you were late in responding, the penalty is in order."

Thus, the game ended like how they used to be. Winner was the Emperor, loser was the love-bird, ahem, Eagle.

After the penalty had been executed, after Lu Cang regained his strength to speak, in a soft voice, Lu Cang asked Jing : "Then what about you Jing, which one do you choose? The sun or candle? Cat or dog? Flo...." Didn't have the time to finish his question, Lu Cang's lips had been sealed by Jing's soft and warm lips.

"What a stupid question. Isn't it obvious? No matter what the option be, I will choose you without a doubt."

Lu Cang had nothing to say anymore. The greatest cheater had won the whole game with that lethal line.

As expected.

End.
