Rain

The sky was dark. Once in a while the clasp of thunder could be heard.

Lu Cang anxiously looked at the sky. Wondering how he could return to his residence. It was quite a distance from this place to his Marquis' residence. And he didn't tell Jing about his visitation to his Brothers' stationed place.

Sighing helplessly, he considered his brothers' offer to stay over for a night.

'Only a night... Jing won't be seriously angry over this trivial matter, will he??' Lu Cang also couldn't be sure. Jing himself was already a great enigma. When Lu Cang thought he would be angry, he actually would laugh. When Lu Cang thought he would be happy, he would upset instead.

'If I travel back now, surely I would be caught in the middle of this horrible storm.'

Lu Cang conflicted again. If he ever got caught in this storm, surely Jing would scold him for being careless.

'What to do....'

------

Jing glanced at the darkened sky. The clasp of thunder indicating that a horrible storm would arrive very soon.

"Has Lord Lu come back yet?" He asked one of the guards outside his Imperial study room.

"Report, Your Majesty. Not yet."

Sighing anxiously, Jing pondering whether to go and fetch Lu Cang or just let him come back by himself.

He knew Lu Cang was visiting his brothers at the Capital's gate where he stationed the bunch of foolish mountain bandits on the garrison duty. Of course he would put spies to watch each and every movement of Lu Cang. He had just retrieved him back from the mountain after he ran away because he was accused as a murderer of his Imperial Uncle, Yong Yi. Naturally he would be cautious if Lu Cang would run away again.

Lu Cang still had his wild nature as a Mountain Bandit's King. That's why Jing didn't want to restrain him too tightly for fear that he would suffocate and have it enough thus decided to leave.

Jing had done all his might to keep Lu Cang by his side. Conferred upon him the Marquis title. Taking in all of his mountain brothers as official. Threw banquets to entertain him. Chose the most exclusive mansion for him to stay, ---and the mansion was really close to the Palace. And despite having countless Concubines, Jing would still come to visit him every single night. No matter how late it was, ignoring Lu Cang's complains about his hyper sex drive which literally drained Lu Cang.

Jing had never used up so much effort on a mere male favorite. No. Lu Cang was not his male favorite. Lu Cang was his most beloved now. Jing admitted that he only regarded Lu Cang as his plaything at first. However, as time went by, the more time he spent with this little mountain bandit king, the more he attached to him. To the point he was afraid of his own feeling. Too afraid to admit that he had fallen for Lu Cang, a man who he considered as someone not suit his appetite.

He had to beat around the bush only to find that he truly couldn't let this man leave his side. With a lot of effort, he personally went to retrieve him. Confirming that he really had fallen deeply and finally come to term with his own self to bravely confronted his own feeling.

"Prepare my carriage." Finally Jing made his decision. Lu Cang would never come to him voluntarily. Not yet. Not now, when he still had his pride as the bandit king. Not when he still had doubt about being with a man.

Once again Jing cast his eyes at the gray-colored clouds. Focusing his eyes as if threatening the God of Rain, challenging him if he dared to let the rain pouring down.
