"You have got to be kidding me! You are bringing him inside the house now?" Alice shrieked and I put the phone away few inches."Well technically, he already came once and talked to mom but you were upstairs," I shrugged, "Stop shouting."
"Stop shouting?! I am not dressing up as you. You can kiss him goodbye," She huffed.
"Fine. Enjoy when he again runs behind you and doesn't leave. Don't come crawling afterwards," I snapped and hung the phone.
The nerve of her! My whole life had passed doing favors to her and this one time she couldn't return it? How selfish. I should've known about this. She wouldn't do anything that didn't benefit her.
So, our lie would come out. I wasn't going to give another excuse. Jared could see all he want and run away too. I was sick of lying. This was my last chance of talking to him and I would make sure we end it on a happy note.
"Let's go," I said, walking back towards him.
"Why the gloomy face?" He asked curiously.
"Just had a fight with my sister." I did not say the name.
Alice? Allison?
Who cares? Anyway, this thing was going off.
"Oh. Hope you guys sort it out. Hop on," He said, handing me the helmet.
《》《》
"Come in," I sighed.
"You don't sound too happy about me coming in. If there is any problem-"
"No, its fine. Its okay," I said. If I was getting busted, it was Alice's fault. This whole drama was her idea and she was ruining it, not me.
Jared understood and stood beside me as I rang the bell.
Okay, this was it. Goodbye, Jared Grey. It was nice knowing you.
"You sure you are fine? You seem really off," Jared said, looking a bit concerned now.
"No, I am really fine," I muttered.
What was taking so long? Mom and dad were out for some business party. Alice was alone. How long does it take to open a damn door?
I heard some "ouch" and "ah".
The door finally opened and I was about to shout at Alice when I gasped.
In front of me stood my carbon copy... my original look carbon copy.
Alice had dressed up. She was wearing my clothes. She had discarded the contacts and worn a full sleeved top to cover the beauty spot. And those flimsy glasses that was sliding down her nose as she tried to push it up.
In short, she was me. We had swapped ourselves. Oh, boy. It was so weird seeing her like this. I never saw her like this since few years. She was me now.
"Hi Alice!" She hugged me.
My eyes were still bulged out. She did it.
For me.
Well, practically for herself but still.
"Jared. Hi! Its so weird to see the enemy school's sports captain at our porch," She giggled, finally looking at him.
I froze again. She had given out few facts which shouldn't be known to her.
"Alice told me about you," Alice covered it up, looking at the confused look on Jared's face. She didn't seem all hyper and nervous when speaking. She didn't need to think so much when she lied.
