I watched as mom hopped into the taxi sitting on the roadside outside our front door, waving to her before it sped away.

She was on her way to the airport, getting ready to board the nine hour flight back to Florida...nine hour flight one way just for 5 days in the country. I sure would hate to do nine hours there and back if it was for a bunch of meetings. If it were me, two weeks would seem more ideal and more worth the time spent travelling. But hey, mom wasn't paying for any of it.

Obviously, Austin was left in charge, but it's not like I need to be looked after. Mom appeared rather worried over the fact that she'd be gone for a little under a week - at least, that's the vibe I got from our refrigerator being stacked to the top with enough ready meals to feed my entire school.

Half an hour later and I was sitting on the sofa downstairs, my legs lazily resting across Cameron's lap and my head against a cushion. Austin was out with his new football mates and so I took this as a prime opportunity to invite my friends round for a movie marathon.

Jennifer was practically laying upside down on the couch, tapping away on her phone, whilst Blake was really concentrating on the movie playing on the TV, and Amber and Kieran were giggling at some video on Amber's phone. I had my laptop open on my lap, not really paying attention to the TV myself - it was some mystery thriller, chosen by the boys and Amber, therefore overruling mine and Jennifer's pleas for something else - and Cameron was so close to falling asleep.

I giggled at the site of him, my slight movement in my legs causing him to stir a little. He rested his hands on my legs, his fingers tracing swirls on my ankle. The contact was extremely ticklish and I couldn't hold back the squirming action that followed. Just like I couldn't hold back the accidental kick to Cameron's chest that was a result of the feeling.

Cameron gasped for air, and for a second I sat there with the same shocked expression on my face as the others in the room, before realising what had happened and bursting into a fit of laughter. Cameron sat up straight, blinking with a dazed expression, before his eyes landed on me and turned into a playful glare.

"You're so going down, 'merica," he smirked at me, and before I could protest, lunged for me. He brought his hands to the hem of my t-shirt and began tickling from my hips to my waistline. I let out a deafening screech of laughter, trying to push him off with with little achievement.

"Cameron! No! Stop it!" I breathed out between gasps. I shrieked again as his tickling caused us to roll of the couch, landing in a tangled mess on the floor. I scrambled away breathlessly, a laugh still escaping my lips. "Don't you dare do that again, Cameron Fletcher."

"Can't make any promises," he grinned back, hands held up in surrender.

I slowly stopped laughing and looking at Cameron, and it gave me time to look around at all my other friends, who now shared a similar expression to each other: knowing looks and smirks. I caught Jennifer's eyes as she raised her eyebrows at me.

"Okay, you two," Kieran removed his arm that I hadn't noticed was around Amber's shoulder in order to clap his hands together. "Get a room, or date...or date and get a room. It's up to you."

The others burst into fits of laughter as I felt the heat rapidly rise in my cheeks, and after sneaking a peek at Cameron, his were the same. Did this mean something? If I'm blushing then maybe...maybe I do like Cameron more than I thought.

"Okay! Who wants to watch another movie?" Cameron announced, quickly dismissing the conversation and avoiding eye contact with me. Needless to say, my feet didn't go back to resting on his lap, and I was left feeling a little disappointed.
