I was almost bowled over when I felt someone smash into me and give me a hug. After blinking a few times, I realised it was Amber.

"Why didn't you tell us?!" She almost screamed in my face, though it wasn't malicious.

"I honestly didn't know," I gave her a small smile.

"I totally called it!" Amber carried on, linking her arm though my own as we made our way to the cafeteria. "One of my best friends is related to Taylor Swift, like, someone hit me with a bus now."

"I will if you don't tone it down like, five hundred notches," Kieran joked, causing Amber to turn around and glare at him. Him and Blake just laughed in return. We approached the table where Cameron and Jennifer were already seated. I took a seat next to Cameron, giving him a small hello which he replied with a smile. Jennifer was smirking at us.

"Yo, little miss Swift, how's it going?" Jennifer said, but laughing to herself.

"Dude, c'mon," I huffed. "And before you ask: no, I did not know." I looked around the room, and just like it had been all day, people were staring and whispering. I rolled my eyes and tried to ignore it. Earlier in the hallway so many more people had smiled at me, waved, said hi, or tried to speak to me, and the attention was starting to get a bit too much.

"So like, spill the details!" Amber chipped in. "What happened? How'd you find out? What happens now? I totally saw your Twitter followers go through the roof!"

"I swear, if you don't chill out Ambs..." Kieran rubbed his temples. "I'm totally taking anything sugary from you for the next few days til you calm down."

"You wouldn't dare," Amber glared at Kieran, who just replied by tapping her nose.

"To be honest, I wanna know what happened too," Blake, on the other side of me, said. I sighed, but I didn't mind telling these guys.

"Okay, okay," I rolled me eyes, and Amber squealed before clapping her hands together. "Honestly, I had no idea, like, not at all. And that sounds stupid, I know. But it never crossed my mind, and now that I know, it was totally obvious why I went to her tour and got to meet her and why mom was emotional, but yeah, anyway. Last week mom had to go to Florida, and said she was going for work. I mean, I guess she was going for work, but I found out now that her work is kinda being mom/manager of Taylor.

But yeah, she came home on Saturday and was acting kinda weird, but then two seconds later Taylor walked into my lounge." Amber gasped. "So, we all sat down and mom and Taylor explained why we never knew and about how Taylor grew up in Nashville with our grandparents and we grew up in Jacksonville, but now people were talking so Taylor thought it'd be best to get it out there and finally meet us."

I finished speaking and noticed Amber with her jaw hanging open, and the others simply taking in what I'd just said.

"Well," Blake broke the silence and slung an arm around my shoulder to pull me into his chest. "At least you're still gonna be the same Caitlyn we were forced to hang out with!" He ruffled my hair.

"Oi, get off!" I shoved him and tidied my hair, but I couldn't hold back my laughter.

"But seriously," Cameron placed hand on my lower arm, where no one could see it. "We're gonna be here for you if anyone tries to stir shit, okay? We were here before this happened and we'll be here after." The others nodded in agreement, Amber still looking like she'd just seen a ghost.

"Thank guys," I smiled, glad to have such genuine friends. We turned back to our food and continued with lunch without a care for anything else.
