"Don't come crying to me when they abandon you," Amber snapped.

I sat down next to Cameron, lunch bag in hand, and attempted to weave into the conversation. Right now Amber was smirking at Cameron and the other boys were playing a game on Jennifer's phone. I eyed Amber, wondering what she could be talking to Cameron about.

"Hey, they chose to back me up on this, I won't fail," Cameron retorted.

"And you guys are talking about what exactly?" I decided to butt in, curious with no one to talk to.

"Oh hey, Caitlyn," Amber addressed me, as though she didn't realise I was there until I sat down. "Cameron put forward an idea for  a student-involved school newsletter and some kids from basketball are backing him up, but I'm certain it's going to flop and everyone but Cam will abandon the idea."

I nodded in reply, sneaking a glance at Cameron. He was just rolling his eyes at Amber. "Whatever, it was just an idea," he grumbled. I unwrapped my lunch and began eating.

"You missed out on a good night on Saturday," Kieran gave me a small smile, making me feel overly guilty. I feel like I'd ditched my friends for Poppy and her crowd, but, they were my friends too? I felt torn and it was stupid.

"Oh, really? What did you guys do?" I replied in a friendly manner, attempting to not make my guilt obvious.

Amber scoffed. "As if you would like to know - heard you had a wild night at Nick's."

My cheeks tinted red and I looked down at my food for a split second. "Uh yeah," I mumbled. I had a good night on Saturday - why were these guys intent on ruining that feeling for me. "It was a pretty good night."

"Better than our night I'm sure," Amber rolled her eyes.

"What's your problem?" I blurted out as my eyes landed on hers as a glare. My features softened almost instantly - I wasn't the type to bitch stare someone.

"Uh, we were ditched for the upper east side? I don't even think the gossip you could give us would be worth it."

"I haven't ditched you guys, I'm not ditching you guys," I sighed. Was this really what it was about? They thought I'd ditch them for the popular crowd? "You guys were my first friends here and still remain to be my best friends, I'm not forgetting that."

"Yeah, and we knew you before you hit sibling stardom," Blake winked my way.

"Poppy and that lot may not be my favourite people in the entire world, but I wanna hear any deets you got from Saturday night," Jennifer perked up and the boys all groaned. I just laughed but proceeded to tell her about those I saw making out, or those who threw up before midnight, and a small bit about my drink being spiked.

"Woah, wait - were you okay?" Cameron asked, looking a little agitated.

"Yeah, Aiden looked after me," a dazed smile made its way onto my face, before I quickly dropped it because of the guilt bubbling inside me. I was talking to Cameron, my best friend who I happened to have a small crush on, who might have a crush on me too.

"As in Aiden, Aiden?" Jennifer raised her eyebrows as Amber's head whipped up from her phone and her widened eyes landed on me.

"Uh, yeah," the sheepish grin appeared on my face again, and I couldn't help it. Aiden was the cliché package: super hot, super popular, super sweet. "I really got to know him on Saturday night."

Yeah, how about when he almost kissed you?

I gulped at the thought and pushed it to the back of my mind, facing my friends who were all gaping at me. My eyebrows knitted together a little. "Uh, why are y'all staring at me like that?"
