" Us? What the heck are you talking about? " Rhett said.
" We know this sounds like complete bull-crap but, everyone has a destiny, and everyone has to achieve it somehow. Sometimes it's just a small thing, sometimes it's flexible and can be changed. But most times it doesn't. And something happened during that day. " Sink said and pointed at the screen.
" Well then, what happened? " Link asked.
" How much do you remember from that day exactly? "
" Me meeting Rhett, staying in during recess, and that lightning hitting the school. "
" Good thing you remember the lightning. Do you Rhett? "
" Yeah I do, it was really weird. We heard that boom but nothing else happened. "
" Something else did happen. "
" Trust us when we say this, but our destinies, faiths, changed. You got ours and we got yours. " Brett mumbled.
" How on earth could that happen? And how can you be so sure it's true? " Link exclaimed.
" We don't know. We're just gonna let you relax and take some stuff in, then we're pulling the switch. You're gonna thank us after this. "
" No! Don't! Not to offend you or anything, but I wanna keep my life. I've changed so much since I started spending time with Link. I can't change all that. "
" Rhett, they're right. Haven't you felt that something's been wrong all these years? " Link said and put his hand on Rhett's shoulder. " I have, but when I saw you so happy I couldn't say anything. Come on, it'll turn out great. We'll entertain millions all over the world and be family men. Plus, we won't loose each other. Rather the opposite. "
Rhett stared at the pictures in front of him for a moment. His whole life flashed in front of his eyes. Was he going to change it all for some made up faith exchange? No, he wasn't. Or was he? It was such a difficult choice. Either he'd loose Link but keep his own, normal life, or change his entire life and still be with Link. And what about this woman? He knew Brett was married and had two kids. What if he wouldn't like them? That wouldn't turn out good for anyone.
" I need a moment to think. " He said.
Brett and Sink nodded at each other and left Rhett and Link alone in the room.
" Link, I'm not sure about it. Maybe everything will be alright, but perhaps we might end up in complete sorrow. "
" No, we won't. I know you've always wanted to have a good relation with a camera. Plus, you already know Brett's wife. "
" How come? "
" Jessie? You're always talking about your crush from collage. It's her. "
Brett froze for a moment. He'd always had this burning love for Jessie, even though he left collage and broke up with her he always had her on his mind.
" Are you sure it's her? "
" Brett gave me this picture in case this would happen. Have a look. "
Rhett looked at the picture and saw the beautiful Jessie in front of him, next to her were Brett and two adorable, beautiful children. Two young boys. A blonde and a dark haired, both of them had cute, curly haircuts and typical summer clothes. It did make his heart melt a little bit.
" He said seeing a picture of your supposedly, "real" relation or family would help. It does, doesn't it? They're beautiful. " Link smiled, wiping a tear from his cheek.
" I- I think I wanna do it. " Rhett hiccuped, not caring about the tears coming from his eyes.
