Castiel rubbed the sleep from his eyes as he walked through the bustling hallway to his English class. It was his first lesson and his mind could barely focus, he never slept very well, he often found himself awake through the hours are darkness, contemplating where the time went.

It had been a couple of weeks since school started. The little quest to find Zoey's killer ran dry a long time ago. Her name was whispered less and less, the grief of her loss was thought of less and less, soon she just became a name on a plaque on one of the school benches, although those who were close to her still suffered from her loss.

The black haired boy casually pushed the door to his class open. A typical class lay before him, nothing interesting enough to describe in detail, tables and chairs with a couple students setting up their stuff before beginning to chat to those around them. More students appeared behind Castiel as he made his way to his designated seat. John was in his class but unfortunately they had a seating plan so Castiel was at the very front of the class while John was on the other side of it. Castiel slung his bag off his shoulder and dumped it onto the desk; he didn't bother taking his trench coat off so he just began to take out his pencil case and books out of his bag before sitting down. Soon enough a short and slim girl walked over to him smiling brightly, Cas returned the smile as the black haired girl began to unpack her stuff.

"Hey!" She smiled, settling down.

"Good morning Keke, how are you?"

"Tired. My brain is too dead for English first thing." She sighed. Castiel nodded in complete understanding before Mr Leto stood up from his computer and calmed the class down. Mr Leto was a young man with thick black hair and dark eyes, he was reasonable and funny but that didn't change the fact that the work they had to do was incredibly boring.

As Mr Leto began talking about something to do with poetry, the door was pushed open and a ghost of a girl walked through, head down.

"Fiona, you're late."

"Sorry Sir." She mumbled.

"Take your seat." Mr Leto sighed before continuing to teach. Castiel couldn't help but let his find wander to Fiona, the girl who was Zoey's girlfriend. It was awful to see how Fiona allowed her grief to overcome her, how time had no help on healing her wounds, how no matter who said what, her conditions continued to decrease. It was heart breaking. Castiel thought about what might happen to him if someone knew and not Zoey, who had died on the first day of school.

He was pulled from his trance as he realised Mr Leto had sat back down this computer and everybody was either working or talking.

"Keke, what are we doing?" He asked.

"Er, writing something to do with the themes in that poem we read yesterday, you have it your book right?"

"Yes, I do. Thank you." He replied as Keke gave him a thumbs-up before going back to her work, by which I mean doodling in the corner of her page.

The lesson passed slowly and tediously. Castiel wouldn't deny that he loved poetry however he found analysing it to be pointless. Nothing much happened during the lesson, though about 15 minutes from the end of the lesson, Fiona got up and talked to Mr Leto in timid, hushed, whispers. Castiel could just about pick out the words "Leave early," and "Meeting." She left after the conversation. When the bell finally went, making an obnoxious beeping, Castiel began packing up his stuff when he heard Keke swear under her breath.

"What's wrong?"

"I have drama next and I left my script in my room, can you come with me to get it? I don't want to be a loner." She asked.

Castiel knew it would make him late to his next lesson but, his teacher was terrible, couldn't control the class, and never noticed if someone was late, so Castiel would be fine.

Keke lead the way back to the dorm room. They carefully weaved themselves through the crowds of people and into the dorm room. As Keke and Cas made their way up the stairs they joined a tall, pretty blond girl who was walking up the stairs as well, Castiel recognised her to be the person he had spoken to about Zoey. She was one of her friends; Hannah.

"Hey, Hannah. How are you?" Keke asked, almost cautiously.

"Better thanks." She relied in a smooth voice.

"What about Fiona?"

Hannah sighed, thinking of her roommate. "It's still hard for her, but we are having a meeting with Mr Eccleston in our dorm in a minute, that's where I'm heading now actually." She forced a smile that Cas saw through immediately.

"She left a couple minutes before lessons finished, she must be waiting for you." Castiel thought out loud and Hannah nodded glancing at Castiel, her eyes lit up with recognition but didn't mention anything.

Keke and Castiel turned in as Hannah kept walking. The short girl pulled open her door to find an almost pitch black room; you could only see the outlines of objects and slight hints of colour. She turned the light on and stepped inside to find her script. Castiel lingered in the doorway observing the room. It was relatively clean with the beds unmade and the occasional item of clothing swept to the side, but besides that, it was fine. The walls were lined with pictures and drawings while the actual rom itself was the same as they boy's only red and brown not blue and white. Keke had only just reached her bedside table when a bloodcurdling scream pierced their ears. Both bolted out in the hallway to see Hannah walking backwards from her doorway, never taking her eyes off what was inside. Her bony hands were covering her mouth as her face paled and continued to walk backwards until she hit the wall, her eyes were wide and pricked with horror. Castiel and Keke ran towards her.

"Oh my God! What's wrong?" Keke asked as she neared her, then the two turned to face the room, Castiel's eyes lit up in distress and he heard Keke take a sharp intake of breath behind him, before clamping a hand over her mouth to prevent her from screaming.

Inside the dark, shadowy room, Fiona's limp body swung and turned delicately from a rope tied around her neck and attached to the ceiling, her hair concealed her features and the only light in the room coming from Fiona's phone which lay on the ground, illuminating the chilling scene.
