Quinn POV
As soon as I said it Hannah ran upstairs leaving me and Trent.
"Can somebody tell me who the hell Meredith is." He said.
I just sighed. "She's my ex girlfriend we broke up a year ago. She changed she became violent and mean. Now I see why. She showed up at my house the other night wanting me to invite her in. Hannah had already told me not to invite anybody in so I didn't. Obviously that's a good thing if she can't enter without permission. Then she showed up at school and was going to hurt me, Hannah saved me again. I don't know what she wants from me. She obviously had the chance to kill me months ago but didn't." I didn't realize I was crying.
"I CAN FEEL THAT," Hannah yelled from upstairs and I just shook my head.
"Ok, so we find this Meredith, we kill her and it's over, it's that simple." Trent said.
"Unfortunately Trent it's not that simple," Hannah said coming back down with a book in her hand.
"Why not?" Trent asked.
Hannah read a passage from the book, "A person containing the ability to be a vampire and werewolf, is the most dangerous of it's kind. It can lead two packs and make one. They are stronger than any force that has walked this earth. Only the chosen one is allowed to kill this being. The chosen one can only kill the person when he/she is vampire/wolf form. The chosen person has to be human." Hannah stopped reading and just ducked her head.
"What is a chosen one?" Trent asked.
Hannah just shook her head. "A chosen one is a person with a special gift, one that when they find the gift, they can not be harmed, but until the gift is found, they are in danger. When the chosen one is in danger, a protector will be sent, to keep them safe until the gift is found. The chosen one is a very powerful person, wolves and vampires are scared of them. Especially when they know they've done wrong. They want to kill the chosen person before they find their gift, because if they don't it means death for them." She continued reading out of the book.
"Ok so we find this chosen person, how do we do that?" I asked.
"We already have," Hannah responded. Me and Trent waited for her to continue, "it's you." She said looking up at me.
"No, there's no way it's me, I'm not the chosen one, I'm scared of my own damn shadow, and if it wasn't for you and Trent protecting me I would have been dead by," my words stopped remembering what Hannah said, "a protector is sent until the gift is found."
"No, no, no, this can't be happening, I don't have a gift." I said running my fingers through my hair.
"Quinn that's where you are wrong," I heard a voice behind me, when I turned it was Collin. "You wonder why you didn't die that night, it's simple the gift came to you, the wolves they couldn't cross the barrier. Once Meredith realized who you were, she has made it her mission to find you and kill you before you figured out how to hold onto that gift. That is where we come in, Hannah is your protector, and that's all we can do. We can not help you find the gift, we can not tell you how to find it, only you can." Collin said.
"How am I the chosen one?" I asked him.
"Maybe some family research would do you some good, feel free to use the library, you might find something useful." I looked over at Hannah, she was paler then I've seen her before. I walked over and sat beside her.
"Are you ok?" I asked her.
She turned and looked at me and I could swear I could see tears in her eyes, she looked back down at the book, "If the chosen one does not find the gift within a year of her protector being sent, the chosen one shall die." She slammed the book and threw it across the floor, before I could say anything else she was out the door.
