The Gift Is Full

Quinn POV

As soon as Hannah said those three words, I didn't know what to do.  I panicked and I ran, and now as I sit against the wall, I think of how childish I had behaved.  I knew that I cared for Hannah, but love was such a strong word.  I am almost mad at her for throwing this on me now, all I want to do is find my gift, and get rid of Meredith before she causes anymore damage.

Those three words rang through my head over and over.  Could I be in love with Hannah, and what would my life be being in love with a vampire?  The last few months my world has been turned upside down, and once the things that I thought never existed, are what consume my life.

I looked at the door and wondered if Hannah was behind, I couldn't help but laugh to myself.  She's a vampire Quinn she could easily break that door down.  I was startled out of my thoughts with a knock on the door.

"Go away Hannah," I yelled.

"Quinn, Hannah is not here, I came to talk to you."  Collin's voice rang through the door.

I didn't want to disrespect him, especially since his family has kept me alive.  I opened the door slowly as he entered.  "Where is Hannah?" I asked him.

"She left, I'm not sure where she went actually."

I couldn't help but feel worried, what happens if she ran into Meredith?  My face must have shown my concern, because he spoke quickly.

"I can feel when my daughter is in trouble, as for now she is safe, but my worry is you right now."

"I just have a lot on my mind Collin, and now knowing that Hannah is in love with me adds a whole new twist on it."

He just smiled as he sat on the edge of the bed, "Quinn, being in love is  a great thing, and for Hannah to show those emotions to you is a big step for her.  I know you care for Hannah, and I'm not sure how deep those feelings are, but if you are in love with her it's ok."

"What kind of life would be have Collin, I'm human and she's not.  I want to go to the beach, and the movies, and hell I even want kids.  How can I have all of those things with Hannah."

I watched as a flash of pain went through Collins eyes, "The only one out of those things you just listed that would be hard is the child part Quinn.  Do you forget that Hannah lives everyday in the human world.  She can go to the movies, she can go to the beach, she can go anywhere she wants, but I guess I just have one question for you.  Can you, or would you want to do all those things without Hannah by your side?"

I opened my mouth to argue, but nothing came out.  I really couldn't imagine doing any of those things, if Hannah wasn't by my side.  I closed my mouth quickly, and just shook my head.  As Collin stood to exit, he turned back to me.  "Love is not just a human feeling Quinn.  Everything on this earth deserves love, even those things that are labeled as monsters."

As he exited the room, I just shook my head.  That man was to wise for his own good, and without telling me I was in love with Hannah, he shows me that I am in love with her.  Now I just needed to tell her, but I knew going searching for her was not an option.  So all I could do was wait for her.

When I woke up the sunlight was shining through the windows, damnit I must have fallen asleep while waiting for Hannah.  I jumped up out of bed quickly, causing myself to trip over something on the floor.  I felt two arms around me before I made contact with the ground and instantly knew it was Hannah.

"Hannah, your ok," I said quickly turning and wrapping my arms around her neck.  "I need to talk to you, can we go to the backyard."

She just nodded her head, and followed me outside.  The sunlight felt amazing, as it was always cold as hell in that house.  I sat down on the grass, and patted for her to sit beside me.  I turned to her and as she went to speak I interrupted her, "Hannah, I love you too," I whispered before placing my lips on hers.  It took Hannah a second to respond, but kissed me back quickly, and with just as much passion as I was giving her.

Once I broke the kiss because I needed air, I just smiled at her.  Hannah went to speak but stopped when she looked over my shoulder.  Her mouth hung open, causing me to turn and see what she was starring at.  I jumped up quickly and ran behind Hannah. 

There must have been thousands of mystically creatures in view.  I noticed the giant buck immediately as he walked towards us.  As he came closer all of the other creatures followed.  I knew that I was safe if he was here, as I stepped away from Hannah, I walked towards the buck.  Once I was standing in front of him, he bowed, followed by all of the other followers.

"What is going on?" I said looking around at the new creatures.  I noticed Centaurs, Unicorns, Pegasus, Griffins, Hippogriff and Dragons.

I am dreaming, I know I'm dreaming, these things belong in a story book, not in my back yard.  I turned and looked back at Hannah, who had now been joined by Zander and Collin.

As all the animals stood back on their feet, I felt a ray of light hit me in the chest.  My body started to tingle all over, and as I brought my hands up, I noticed the beams of light coming from my finger tips.  My heart was beating out of my chest, and I almost felt like I was going to suffocate.

"Quinn, just relax and breathe, just use your mind and control it."  Collin had came up behind me and whispered in my ears. 

I nodded my head, and closed my eyes, find your happy place Quinn, and as I thought of Hannah all the feelings of before had disappeared.  When I opened my heart rate was back to normal, I opened my eyes and realized the rays of light were also gone.  I turned and looked at Collin who was just smiling.

"Love is the greatest gift of all Quinn, congratulations you have found your gift."

I stood looking at him dumbfounded, "I had to fall in love to receive my gift?"

"It wasn't that simple, you had to fall in love with your protector," Collin said turning to Hannah who was still standing there with her mouth open.  "Also, your army is now full, and Meredith does not stand  a chance."  Collin said pointing around at all the creatures.

"You are their leader, you are their commander, when you need them they will come, but hopefully soon after the war they can go back to doing what they do best.  Just being part of a story, and living as they never existed."

I ran to Hannah, who wrapped me in her arms, "good job babe," she whispered in my ear.

"I couldn't have done it without you Hannah, and I don't want to."  I went to kiss her before I heard a lot of groaning from behind us.  I couldn't help but giggle and give her a quick peck on the cheeks.

"As I was saying, since you received your gift with the giant buck around, Meredith has no clue that your gift is full, so you have full advantage, and unfortunately Hannah all you can do now is sit and wait for Quinn.  The Chosen One is the one who speaks, and we listen."

I watched as Hannah looked at her father quickly, "Even my army?"

"Everyone," Collin said pointing over her shoulder.  When we turned Trent and his pack where standing behind us in their wolf forms.  As the pack grew closer, Trent walked up towards me, I placed my hand on top of his head, and as he bowed so did his pack.

Ok that's going to take some time to get use to, as Trent stood back up, I could hear him speak.  "So now what Chosen One?"  I jumped back quickly and looked at Collin who started laughing.

"As we here wolf talk, you here human talk.  There is nothing that you can't do now Quinn, which will also give you an advantage when Meredith is in her form, when she speaks you will understand it.

I stood in the middle surrounded by army, I made a circle before speaking, "So what do we now you ask?  We prepare for war, we plan, we wait, and we attack, and once I make Meredith suffer the long painful death that has been coming for some long time, we can all go back to living our lives the way we want.  No more fear, no more hiding, I as your leader will end this with your help, and we will conquer."
