Kevin's POV

It is finally here, Christmas Eve in Peach Creek. Being able to spend Christmas with Edd is more than I could ever dreamed of. Driving over to his house, I play my mom's favorite holiday song, Santa Baby. Although it is a carefree, upbeat song I cannot stop tears coming to my eyes. Most days I can go without thinking about her, but the holidays make it especially hard.

"Merry Christmas, Kevin." Edd says, pulling open the door against the strong wind.

"Merry Christmas, Edd." Leaning, down I quickly peck Edd's slightly chapped lips. Walking into the small foyer, I spy Diana circling Edd's leg, wearing a festive Christmas sweater.

"And Merry Christmas to you, Diana." The rather shaggy cat simply glares in response. Scanning the main floor, Edd's parents are nowhere to be seen.

"Oh, my parents are out for the evening. We usually have our family Christmas tomorrow morning." Edd says, reading my thoughts. Following behind him, Edd's leads me into his family's formal living space. The room appeared to have been copied and pasted out of a magazine. The bright green Tree, meticulously decorated and color schemed, standing in great contrast to the typically baran room.

"It looks amazing Dork, we haven't decorated a tree in years."

"Neither have I, we hire a designer each year to decorate." Edd says longingly. I can't imagine what it is like to have such absent, removed parents. Anytime he mentions them, I can sense the sadness in his voice.

"Let's take advantage of this overly consumerist, capitalistic Christmas scene and exchange gifts." I suggest, reaching into my coat pocket for Edd's gift.

Edd's POV

As Kevin reaches in his coat pocket, goosebumps begin to form on my arms. Although I told him numerous times that I didn't need a gift, here he is about to give me what will be the best gift I have ever received. Regardless of its materialistic worth, the fact he has once again gone out of his way to make me smile is an amazing feeling.

Opening the small box, I hear Kevin Speak. "Look at the stars. They're the same stars as last week, last year. Same as when we were kids. When we weren't even born. In a hundred years, no one will ever know who we are. But, they'll know those same stars. My love for you Edd are like those stars, never ending." After he finishes speaking I take note of the contents of the box; A delicate silver ring with a star cutout, and a certificate of ownership of a star.

"Kevedd?"I whisper reading the coordinates and logistics of our star.

"I didn't know what to name it, so I combined our names."

"The ring, the star? This is all too much. Thank you." I say, pulling Kevin in for a warm embrace, his chiseled chest bringing me further comfort.

How'd I ever get so lucky?
