I grab my gloves and everything imported that I need to be goalie. As I make my way over to our goal posts the other team laughs, pointing at me like a girl can't play soccer because they have no skill.
When I am standing in the goal I bang my boots on the post. Why did he give me this positon? I look over at the others to see them getting themselves sorted with Isaac being a leader talks to a worried and nervous looking Robert who used to be goalie. He looks as unhappy as I am the way he keeps sending glimpses at the goal. Isaac whispers something into Roberts ear to make Robert look more confident. Robert looks back at me and smiles giving me the thumbs up, What the hell?
I look taken back, why is so damn cheery all of a sudden. I look over at Isaac to see I'm watching over me with a straight face before nodding, not at me but at himself in approval before looking over at the other team taking his place.
I sigh, this is not going to work out. Suddenly the whistle blows catching my attention as every sprints forwards.
Declan gets to the ball first and got to the twenty-five yard mark before getting surrounded by the opposite team. From the look of the game back here its pathetic. For one, our team is bunch up like some bee protecting their queen. This meant to be an opportunity as the other team is the same, we can easily win this but I just had to be Goalie didn't I.
I stood and watched for a minute, Is Isaac jealous? is that the reason he wont let me on the field, if that's the reason what did he say to Robert to make him give me the thumbs up and to make him so confident? I just don't understand, boys can be so complicated including my father who apparently has no say in the matter. My father always encourage me to get in the game, he wouldn't allow me to be put in goalie if it wasn't for a reason.
When I took notice of the game I was lucky I did as the opposite team now had the ball and was ready to shoot but Isaac slides on his side kicking the ball from under him just as he kicks. He jumps but to his feet and leading the ball away. Why did he block that? I mean its natural for him to want to get the ball especially with me in the goal. But he put himself in front of that guy who was about to kick, that could've caused some major injuries just lucky he took his time.
I groan as I watch Isaac dodging all the player and soon enough he passed it to Nick who did a few skills before passing it onto Jet. They were way over fifty yards, a few more kicks and they would be abled to strike... without me.
Jet nudges it to Robert who now starts to look worried and everyone notices Jets mistake with Robert actually stops the ball with his feet just like he would do in goalie.
The opposite team member kicked it surprisingly to a guy on his team that just finished tying his shoe lace. I sake my head as I see all the guys sprinting down towards me with Isaac in front sprinting as fast as he can go. I wasn't fully sure if he could make it down here without the other guy shooting first.
The guy was taking his time lining up the ball and did a few measurements. When Isaac was near him he shoots the ball as it fly's quickly, flinging through the air. I didn't know if I could catch it if I can barely see it. But luckily I didn't have to worry about that as the ball totally misses the goalie even after all his 'measurements'. It landed not far away but compared to the goalie distance it was horrible.
I ran quickly after the ball as some guy definitely on the other team whistled. I suddenly feel embarrassed, I never felt this way as I always play with girls but this time its of course different with guys.
Once I turned around with the ball in my hand I almost drop the ball as everyone was in a massive fight. I quickly ran back but my father stops me, "stay out of it your a tough girl but don't get involved."
I nod as my father runs over to my team trying the spread them apart along with the other coach and referees.
I can see some of my teammates on the ground bashing into the other guys faces but again some guys on my team were getting seriously hurt but the guys that were finished knocking out their opponent help the ones that need a hand which sent me into a happy mood that they are caring for their teammates but I am also very worried in the result. Not the result in the game but in everyone's safety. I hate sounding like this, like I am their mother but I cant help but be worried about them.
My dad suddenly blows his whistle making everyone stop. "You carry on worse then a much of girls." I heard my father say that before but he wasn't like that now its like he had a gratitude and proudness in his voice as he looks caringly over his team before looking over at me nodding me to come over.
I did as he gestured me to do. The closer I got the more I noticed the bruises and blood stains on their face and clothes and I suddenly felt sad and a little guilty for actually not getting involved even if I am just a girl."Don't for guilty for something we started for a reason," Isaac states looking at me with a cut on his lip and a few bruises near his eye.
"A reason?" I question. "Did yous all start this because they whistled at me?"
They all went quite as some mainly Isaac blushed as he looks away trying to act tough. "We couldn't let them talk to you like that," his reason make my heart suddenly flatter as I felt warm inside.
"That right. We love you Ashley!" Nick says without no shame as Isaac hits him lightly in the back of the head and stares at him.
"What Nick is trying to say in a friendly way with those three word is that we all care for you Ashley and if anyone try's to hurt you, make a move you or even whistle at you. We will always be there to beat them up because no-one misses with our teammate," Rowan says. Everyone smiles nodding in agreement as a tear slips down my face in happiness.
