The next day I was helping Sara and others making things from flowers which were actually decorations for the ritual. How they will make them stay fresh is beyond me.

But the worst thing was Mark watching me. No, not because he was interested in me (I hope), but because there is a rule about newcomers. All of them were ordered to stay in the living area, that would be the cave and the grass are, and be watched by the one who brought the new person incase he or she tried to run away.

Other than that, Mark is a Beta. You must be thinking, but Rose he must have a lot of work to do. Yes he does, but he does them in spot where he can see me. Like ordering others or splitting two mad men from the fight from the angle that I was in his radar. He was multitasker that is for sure. And I am starting to feel like an inmate in a jail with cameras everywhere.

'Rose, can you help me pick some more flowers?' Sara asked me mid day. My head instantly started thinking about the escape.
'Which ones?' I asked hoping it would be wild ivy which were growing at the entrance to the, as people are calling, green area. You know the grass field. It actually led to the forest in which the very same river was flowing through.

'We are short on Camomiles' she said and I nod. Camomiles were growing by the mountains a few meter away from ivy bushes but it's better than nothing.

We picked two baskets and left the cave. I instantly saw Mark taking his bow and arrow and following us. So much for blending in.

After couple of minutes we reached the Camomile field. It looked awesome. Thousands of small white buds were in their full bloom. I crouched the way that I could see Mark just in case and started to pick up small flowers.

'So, will you participate in the ritual?' Sara asked and I looked at her but quickly turned my gaze away. Sara was staring with intense stare.
'I don't know. I was thinking on watching how the ritual looks and stuff' I mumbled and glanced at Mark. He was talking with some man I didn't know.
'Bummer. I heard some men talking about you' Sara said and my hand froze mid air.
'Oh. They did?' I casually asked. Well, tried. Sara chuckeled.
'Aha. And they were talking about really mature things' she said and I felt my cheeks flaring up.
'And I bet they were how they will bed me' I said and plucked another bud.
'In all the poses' Sara laughed while I was heating up from embarrassment.

Suddenly Sara was called out and she left saying she will be back in the minute. I watched her go when I realised. I was alone. I looked around and saw that Mark was gone. Or hiding. But my mind didn't care about it. Mark was gone for who knows how long and he both with Sara can come back anytime. My body sprung into action and I ran.

I reached the ivy bush and carefully walked by it into a really narrow ravine. Only three men side by side could walk through it. Looking up I could see tree roots and different kind of bushes hanging. If you look closely into the ground you could see that some time ago there was a river. In the distance I could see some huge rocks by the path.

Whitout wasting any second I started to run. I skipped some rocks and finally I saw the forest. I ran straight since I didn't know the way. I was just hopping that luck was on my side.

Moments later I heard footsteps behind me. I glanced back and my eyes widen. There was Mark running after me drilling hole in me with anger. He was furious. Our eyes met and I sped up. I never thought I could run this fast.

Running water. I could hear a water running nearby. And.... bones breaking? For a second I heard sickening sound following by a growl. I don't know why but the only thing that came into my mind was a werewolf. Mark just turned.

All of the sudden the river came into my view. I was so close to my freedom. But just before I could jump into the water I felt someone hitting my back and I fell flat to the ground. Rolling on my back I saw huge dark brown wolf standing above me glaring with his yellow eyes furiously. He lowered his head and I felt his teeth by my neck.

No one has came back.
