Part 28

For the past 4 days I hardly saw Dimitri. As others said he was at the meetings. The meetings that obviously didn't let me in for whatever reason. He was definitely planning something and it was imposible to find out what when the only time we meet is late into the night. And I wanted some answers to my question for a long time.

So here I am standing in the doorway to our room in the middle of the night waiting for my oh so awesome mate to come.

He better not be a bitch tonight.....

I heard steps in the hallway and even though I couldn't see him, his chocolate scent was like a cloud of perfume that the make up bimbos put in order to feel confident around others. It hit my nostrils and I felt calmness wash down my body. It always had this effect on me. Mate stuff.

Finally he showed up and our eyes met. I was standing my legs parted and arms in front of me like an officer waiting for an explanation. I saw his eyebrows shot up as if he was surprised but I only gave him a stern look. He stopped two meters away from me and smirked.

'What a surprise to see my little mate waiting for me' he said with the hint of sarcasm. I knew we both knew that I was here not for playing around.

'And I'm ready to get down to business' I said and his smirk changed into a sly one.

'Already thinking about family eh?' He asked taking two steps closer to me and pulling me into his chest. It took me a moment to process his answer and I felt my cheeks getting hot.

'Not that kind of business you pervert! I want answers' I said trying to wiggle my way out of his grip.

'Saw that coming' he said and dragged me to our room for, as I would guess, a private talk.

'So what do you want to know?' He asked sitting in one of the chairs around a small coffee table in the corner of the room. I sat in front of him and looked at him keeping my stern look.

'Why did you choose me? And don't give me "your dance was beautiful" bullshit' I said and he lazily leaned back.

'Because I like you' he said bruntly making my eyes go wide.

'Okay.... Do you trust me?' I continued and a small smile appeared on his face.

'No' was his answers and for some reason I signed with relief.

'Good neither do I' I replied and a yawn came out. I was really tired. He stood up and picked me up into his arms.

'Don't wait for me from today on' he said placing me onto bed and laying next to me.

'Like you weren't pleased' I murmered before drifting to sleep.

Next day he was at the meeting again. But this time I was going to find out about what exactly it is. I noticed that the meetings are always in Dimitri's office of some sort and it had a "window" from where I can spy. It's some climb but not impossible.

After my breakfast I was on my way to that location when I heard whispers few meters from me. I quickly hid behind the tree and peaked towards the sound. I saw two men talking and by the aura they were giving it was obvious that they held Alpha titles.

'Are you going to help him?' First one asked and the second laughed.

'Of course I will. This island belongs to our kind not humans' he said and scoffed 'are you still deciding?' The second only signed.

'I don't know what to do' he honestly said and the second one placed his hand on his shoulder.

'Dude, we only need to kill the humans in that village and everything they have will be ours. This island belong to us'
