VENUS

I woke up early in the morning, around seven, to unpack the things we have bought to Marquis's house. Nakakapagod din kasing makapag-ayos ng iba naming mga gamit ni Celeste kahit na hindi naman ganoon kahirap.

Marquis's house was fully furnished and surprisingly clean. Hindi rin siya ganoon kalaki. It can shoulder 2-4 people. It didn't look nor define simplicity at all, may grand piano pa nga sa gitna. It was unsual for me to live in a posh environment, I've been living simply for almost ten years now. The sense of familiarity washed over me as soon as I stepped inside. Hindi ko pa tuluyang nakalimutan ang pinagmulan ko.

My stomach suddenly grumbled loudly. The refrigerator wasn't filled with good yet. Isa 'to sa mga itenerary ko ngayon, ang mag grocery. I thought about take-outs but breakfast was a different story. It is an important meal of the day so ayaw kong mapa-deliver lang. Kaspar loves my cooking—why am I even thinking of him? God.

I shrugged all the unnecessary thoughts at pumunta na lamang sa kusina. I really loved kitchen. It has a wide open space that I could move freely. Kumpleto ang mga gamit dito: from plates to knives, stoves and ovens, basically all the equipments I need was there. May stone oven sa labas kaya halos lahat ng pastries na alam ko ay magagawa ko kahit nasa bahay lang ako. I remembered ordering pizza yesterday. Dapat siguro hindi na kami um-order kagabi at ako na lamang ang gumawa. Hindi ko masyadong naobserbahan ang kabuohan ng bahay dala na rin sa pagod kahapon. Besides that, I didn't have any groceries to begin with.

My stomach gurgled again. I recalled that I haven't eaten for ten hours, so is Celeste. I'm sure the kid could eat an elephant as soon as she wakes up. I quickly go to the refregirator to get eggs and bacon, hoping there was at least something inside. But I ended up calling Marquis's phone number.

"Shit! Why did you—shit. Venus! Anong nangyari?" Marquis frantically answered. I can tell that I interrupted him while he's sleeping, or Ingrid and him are enjoying themselves while I interrupted them.

"Hindi mo man kang sinabing wala ka palang pagkain dito sa bahay mo. I should've shopped yesterday." I hissed playfully as I heard him grumble at the other line. "Ni ice cubes wala rito."

He groaned. "Venus, may convenience store diyan, a few blocks away from the house. Now you can move your ass out with your money and buy food. Simple, diba?"

I was amused now. "You're too hot, don't you think?"

"Venus, I am hot. Very hot. Damn hot." He whispered. A whimper flew past his lips. "I'm with Ingrid right now so please, drop the fucking call. It hurts..."

My assumption is, without any doubt, true. Ingrid and him are enjoying themselves. Natawa nalang ako sakaniya. "A'ight. It was nice interrupting you, by the way."

The call ended immediately. He was very impatient, he sounded one too. I shook my head. Of course. He is like Kaspar. One time, natawagan ko rin si Kaspar habang gumagawa ng milagro and I was just asking how the his lawnmower works. He was kind of erratic nong tumawag ako, akala niya kung ano ang nangyari sa'min ni Celeste but his thought retreated after that. But he never got pissed of me.
