His muffled crying expands all the way to my room and wakes me up. It's a small whimper that sounds like the noise a young child makes when they have a nightmare. Despite being it being very early in the morning, I get out of my bed and scurry out to the main room.
"Krystal... Krystal..." he whispers a girl's name over and over again while his head shakes and twitches on his pillow. This is heartbreaking, seeing him suffer because of this girl.
I jog over to his side and grab his hand.
"Jongin, wake up. It's okay, wake up," I whisper, using my other hand to touch his cheek. He's broken into cold sweat.
"Krystal!" he yells and then wakes up with his eyes wide open. "Krystal, is it you?" he asks softly, pain in his voice.
How am I supposed to answer without hurting his poor heart?
"Jongin, no—"
He pulls my body closer to him and tightly embraces me tightly even though he's not as strong as a normal person.
"It's you, right?"
This is what he asks me right before he dozes off again, a tear falling out of his eye.
