Cold kisses from storm clouds scatter across the green and lush forest floor,
Melting, collecting, tumbling off her paled skin,
A couple ice crystals gather like the tears that never came,
She never saw him coming,
Red stains contrast with the newly fallen snow,
A white blanket covers the crimes and horrors committed yesterday.
Calloused feet are coated in mud and clay,
Running shoes have been abandoned somewhere in the dark abyss from a track that never ended,
How dare her life be taken from behind,
She would not be found for hours,
Left alone in the unforgiving cold,
Evidence taints the ground and air,
He could wash the blood from his hand but he would never remove his existence from the past,
She'd have ideas and fears of who that breaking branch behind her could've been but she'll never truly know,
A cowardly man sliced through skin from behind,
And he called himself her lover.
How was it so easy, to turn an inviting pair of grey eyes, icy blue in a matter of money and pride?
