"Purple,"
He said,
"I love purple."
So I dressed myself in
Lilac,
And danced in fields of
Lavender.
I fed myself
Plum.
Hoping,
Praying,
To be someone;
Anyone;
The one;
He wanted to know better.
I shinned like stones of
Amethyst.
I picked the gardens free of
Orchid.
I painted my soul in
Violet.
When I gathered enough courage,
To approach him at
Twilight;
He frowned,
And told me,
"You must be confused."
And then I realized,
In his head
He had mixed up
Purple
With
Blue
For, he told me
"I chose indigo over you."
