It was a cold night, yet inside, Phoenix Drop was bursting with fire. The children were playing and having fun together, while the adults had glasses of champagne and wine. This marked the temporary peace treaty between them and O'kasis, and they were celebrating together. All but one. The Lady, and last surviving ruler lay on her death bed with her adoptive daughter by her side. The Lady had raven black hair that cascaded down her shoulders, and sun-kissed skin that radiated in any kind of light. The woman at her side had hair that was chestnut brown and came down in beautiful waves, and it frizzed when she got worried. Her skin was just tanned, so very slightly, to make it look like she was her daughter. The Lord would've been there, but he was dead. Killed off by the same sickness that was killing her.
"Lori..." said the Lady, "Yes Mom?" Tears streamed down Lori's face, wetting the quilt which covered her mom. "I need a favor," she lifted up the cup next to her and leaned in to Lori's ear. Downstairs, Lori told some of the maids the plan and told her to put the children to sleep. The four year old Aphmau, was playing with her friends, Garroth, Katelyn, Kawaii~Chan, and Zane. The maid came to take the children of Phoenix Drop to bed, and gave the King of O'kasis a cup, and told him of the Lady's dying whish. The King agreed and off to bed they all went.
The next morning Aphmau woke up to someone she thought she had never known, Lori was sat besid her bed to make sure she hadn't remembered anything. Sure enough, the Lady had died the night before, and Lori and her husband were the new rulers of Phoenix Drop. "Good morning sunshine, give mommy a hug!" The tear stains were still prominent, on her face, but Aph didn't know any better, so she hugged the woman who had said she was her mom.
But unluckily, nothing lasts forever.
Nothing.
