(There really isn't any POV for this, so enjoy!)
"Once upon a time, there was a small village, it had guards, people, magick, and most of all, fun. Every day, kids would run around, playing with each other, and adults would do work, or just enjoy life. Now, in one house, there lived a happy and joyful family. The father was a trusted guard, of middle age, the mother was a gardener, also of middle age. Now, they had a daughter, and her name was Lori, she was only 16 years of age, and was growing into a beautiful young woman (if I do say so myself!). One day, as her family was having a picnic in the outer fields of the town, her parents put on grave faces, and turned to her.
"'Lori,' they said, 'We know of a horrible plan, a plan of corrupted minds, and we love you. Lori, if you are to live, and live you must, you must leave tonight.' Lori looked up to her parents, 'What do you mean?' she said, 'I'm barely even grown, and, I love you guys, I can't just leave.' There were tears brimming at her eyes, and those of her parents, 'We know, darling, but you must go far away, into the woods, until you find a village. In that village, you must help it to flourish, you must live life to the fullest. Go, now, my child,' they said, 'Leave and never come back.' Lori held her parents before darting back to her house to flee, and flee she did, for in the morning there wasn't a trace of the girl anywhere in the village.
"Lori made her way through the forest, and camped for many a day, and night, before she stumbled across a small kingdom. It was not a huge kingdom, but it was certainly bigger than her old village. It had a good sized castle for the Lord and Lady of the whole village, and winding streets that brought her to many parks and town squares, many oceans and many forests, and most of all to people. In that village were people of all types, werewolves, magick users, guards, bakers, witches.... and they all welcomed her. She asked every one who she met where to find a place to be, to live, to help, and all pointed to the large castle by the docks.
"She wandered up to it, and she realized how big, and beautiful, detailed it was, everything down to a random piece of brick, to the stained glass windows that dotted the outer walls. She explained to every guard coming in that she was a new comer to the town and she needed to talk to the Lord of the village, and every one graciously let her pass. She hefted her backpack onto her shoulders, and walked until she was told to wait for the Lord to come. She stood, before the throne room doors until she walked in, surprised at what she saw and heard. Who she thought would be the Lady, or supporting spouse to the man in the room, revealed herself to be the Lord of the village, who's name was Phoenix drop.
"'Ma'am,' Lori stated, 'I came here from another village that is under some plan. I was advised to leave, and I found this village while I was looking for a home. I am only eighteen,' she said, 'But I want to help out as much as I can, and make Phoenix Drop as great as possible!' By then Lori had a gleam in her eyes that the Lord could not refuse, 'Come, let us talk, but for now, consider this your home.' And Lori's home it stayed, where she met the people of the village, made friends, and grew as to be a part of the royal family.
"The years came and went, and Lori became a woman, and fell in love with a charming guard named Mike. In a few short years they got married, and soon enough, the Princess was born. The kingdom rejoiced at two successful ceremonies, and the village flourished. Smiles were spread, laughs were had, and connections were made. The young Princess's name was decided to be Aphmau when she was born, and Lori and Aphmau grew close. Lori was known as auntie, and the two played together all the time.
"But there were many other people that the Princess met, for there were chefs downstairs that had birthed a beautiful Me'fwa, just a year later after Aphmau's birth. The Me'fwa had pink hair, black ears, and yellow eyes, and was known as Kawaii~Chan. In being friends with her, Aphmau got to know the cooking staff, and was welcome there, so she was taught some of the ways of cooking, and, how to clean dishes, thus creating a trait of caring in the young girl. Two other friends she made were Laurence and Katelyn, whom she came to know through training and her preparation to soon be Lord one day.
"But, one day, their was a disagreement between the neighboring kingdom of O'kasis and Phoenix Drop, and there was a small war between the two. There were times though, when they met, and so began a friendship between the royal children. Garoth and Aphmau and Zane, all children that played with each other, and the rest of Aphmau's friends, even though Zane was a bit secluded from the group he still joined the rest of them in playing, and they all had fun together.
"Suddenly, though, the king was struck with an illness, and was killed. The kingdom was grief stricken, but they all pushed forward so that they could be happy, so that everyone around them could be happy, and when the war was over, when there was a treaty made, everyone thought so. The Princess was now five, there were friendships between many people of the other kingdom, but they were wrong, not everything was okay, not everything was alright, because there was one person who had hidden their suffering, the Lord of the village.
"She had stayed strong, she had hidden her struggle, but on the week the feast was to happen, she showed that she was deathly sick. Doctors, and healers came, but by no means could they save her. Lori was heart broken. The little girl who had been happy in her old village, the little girl who had to abandon happiness, the little girl who had come so close to family, the little girl who had come so close to a happy ending, the little girl who was now a young woman, her heart was broken into two.
"So, on the night of the grand feast between the two kingdoms, to celebrate peace, Lori was upstairs with her so called 'mother', holding her as she spoke her last words, 'Lori,' she squeaked out, 'Yes, mom?' The Lord had always said to call her what ever Lori wanted, and so Lori did. The Lord reached out to her side, and grabbed a glass of water, 'Put one of the flowers over therein this cup,' Lori raced over, pulled off some twilight colored petals, and placed them in the glass, only to see them fade into the water almost immediately, turning it blue.
"'What does this do?' Lori looked at the Lord with worried confusion on her face, 'My dear,' she squeaked, 'This will be given to my child tonight, she will forget her past relationships, including me, and her father. She will quickly make friends once again, for she is a gem, just like you, Lori, you must be her mother with Mike.' Lori looked appalled, 'But-I,' 'You two love this child as much as I do,' the Lord stated, 'You will give her this cup of water, you will be her mother, and, you will give her my music box, Lori, you must be the Lord of Phoenix Drop" the Lord indicated over to her old music box, on her dresser.
"Lori nodded, 'Of course I love Aphmau, Mom, of course,' tears were now streaming down Lori's face, 'I will do as you wish mom,' and she hugged her tight, said she loved her, and left her mother figure, probably to die. Lori ran around down stairs, telling of the plan, leaving the children to ignorant bliss, and making sure that Garoth forgot most of it as well, and that the royal family of O'kasis would leave the next morning. Nothing was done to the other kids, Lori left their memories without a scratch.
"The next morning Lori made her way up to Aphmau's bedroom, tearstains on her face, she welcomed her, with open arms, back into the family, hers, realized Lori, it was her family, and she would make it the best it could be. The years after that you know the story of, sunshine, the years in between."
