Aphmau's POV:

I stared into my pancakes, while sounds resonated around me, "Well, what are your plans for the winter seasons?" my mother inquired, trying to sound sincere about her question, "Well," the King said, "We should be..." But my brain blocked out the rest of the sounds, as my head swam with thoughts, what am I, who am I? My head repeated these questions over and over again, until a heard a familiar voice speak quietly, "Are you okay?" I looked up from my plate to see Garroth looking at me. His blue eyes were filled with worry, and I wanted to confide into him, but I knew I couldn't yet. I smiled despite my troubles, "We can talk later, nothing big." He looked skeptical, but respected me, "Ok, I trust you." He receded  back to his chair, back to his own thoughts.

I glanced back down to my pancakes, and decided to start eat them, as they were starting to get cold. I excused myself from the table, and sneaked my dirty plate with me downstairs, to the kitchen. The sweet smell of baking cakes drew me in, and I dropped my plate into the sink before running over to Kawaii~Chan, "Heeyyyy, wanna let me have some cake batter?" She jumped, then seeing me, rolled her eyes, "Aphmau~Senpi, you know I can't let you have cake batter!" I pouted the best I could, "PLEEAASSEEE?" She then sighed, and put her hands behind her back, "Fiiiiiine, but only a finger, Aphmau~Senpi," She blushed and put a mischievous smile on her face.

As I dipped my finger into the sweet concoction, I heard a agitated voice from across the counter, "HEY, Kawaii~Chan, you know that we aren't allowed to let people out side of the kitchen staff sample things!" I looked up to see Rese standing there with is old apron on, hands on his hips with an exasperated, yet kind look on his face. Kawaii~Chan blushed deeply, and her eyes opened wide, "R-RESE~SENPI, UM-I-IT WAS FOR APHMAU~SENPI!" I rolled my eyes, "Okay, Rese I am so sorry, and yes, I know the rules, it was my idea, I just, needed to do something that didn't remind me of, never mind." I plastered a smile over my troubles, and looked him in the eyes as he responded, "Oh, well, I guess I can make an exception to our ally," he smiled with a spark in his eyes, "Get back to work Kawaii~Chan, we'll need those cakes tonight," and he walked away.

I turned to Kawaii~Chan and put my hands on my hips, "When, are you going to talk to him?" I raised my eyebrows questionably, "W-well, I-I..." Kawaii~Chan wrapped her arms about herself, and quickly grabbed the wooden spoon in the bowel, and pretended to be busy, "Well, you know, Rese~Senpi said to get back to work, and you probably have things to do so," she continued as she started to push me to the opposite doors, "You should get back to work before Rese~Senpi gets mad at us again, so bye Aphmau~Senpi!" She rushed off and closed the doors behind her, leaving me back where I had started, without a thing to do.

I strolled to the upstairs, and I heard familiar music from down the hallway, so I walked down to check it out. I ended up at the study, a place with a desk, and a small seating area with a couch. Resting on the couch was my mother, a stack of papers in her lap, and a pen in her hand. As I looked around to see where the music was coming from, I saw a strikingly familiar music box on the side table. It was the one from my bedroom that my parents had gotten me when I was five, and it was playing a song that I only slightly remembered, not the one it would usually play.

My mother looked up when she saw me, and smiled, "Well, what are you doing here, sunshine," I went over to the couch and snuggled up next to her, "Well, looking for who I am." I sighed and looked up at the ceiling, "I healed Garoth that one day in the woods Mom, that was why he was okay and I wasn't. And ever since I have seen him, I've been getting these visions, these, things, that have, well I think, him, and me, and all of my friends in it, except for one thing mom, we're children. And, there are two faces I don't remember being in my child hood, Garoth, and another boy with jet black hair."

My mother sighed, "Sweetie," she put a regretful smile on her face, "There comes a day when we all must understand our story. Let me tell you yours....."
