BTW, Aph is still wearing the same outfit and hairstyle from the last chapter, enjoy!

Aphmau's POV:

My boots crunched the leaves beneath me, making almost inaudible noises as I sneaked through the undergrowth, making my way towards the secret tunnels that lined the town. The whole village used to know about it, but it has slowly widdled down to just the royal family, and guards who know about it. My purple quiver of arrows was strung around my back, in case I would have to use my bow, which in fact, had come in handy many a time. The moon shone like a pearl in the night sky, the stars complementing it like a diamond pillow, which it would rest on. There was a cool breeze which blew around me, occasionally lifting a stray strand of hair from its resting place on my head.

I finally made it to the cave, the front was covered in vines, and it wasn't the most enjoyable tunnel that we had, but it was the fastest one to O'kasis. I smiled, and pushed aside the vines, they were old, and littered with honey suckles and morning glories. I felt like I was finally so close to getting him back, but someone was there to stop me. "It's become quite a thing now hasn't it?" I turned around to see Dante, a grim smile on his face, "You going on your missions without telling us?" I felt bad, so I walked back up to Dante, and hugged him. Luckily, he hugged me back.

"I'm sorry," I said, and I let go, and faced him once more, "Dante... I..." I looked into those deep ocean blue eyes, ones that I had been close friends with ever since he had come out of guard school. I sighed and sat back on a near by rock, "I need to get him back Dante," I felt tears start to stream down my face as I continued, "And not just because the war will continue, or because the people will suffer, or because.... or because I am forced to marry him Dante!" I continued to cry, and Dante just looked at me with understanding, and listening in his facial features. I finished in a barely audible whisper.

"It's because I love him."

Dante came over to my side, and I stood up and hugged him once more, and I wiped away my tears as we drew apart, "I just," Dante looked down, "What are all of us going to do without you, Aph?" He looked into my eyes, and I could see tears streaming down his face as well. I smiled to try and bring light into this dark clearing, right at the edge of the village, where the mountains bordering the west towered above us. The rocks shone like a pillar of silver in the moonlight, making this clearing one of the most beautiful to see at night.

"Well," I said, strolling over towards the cave entrance, "I know that while I am gone," I smiled, and looked at him, "Katelyn, and Laurence will stay strong," my hands touched the leafy vines covering the cave, "But you Dante," my hands started to part the vines once more, "You must stay strong, not just for the people," I took a step backwards, "But for me." I could see tears fall onto the dry soil around us. I took one final step into the darkness, but before I turned around, I said one last thing, "Give Mother and Papa my regards, will you?" And with that, I disappeared into the tunnel.

I had a mission after all.
