[30] : Fears

I was sitting in my room late in the evening when the doorbell rang. Knowing who it was I hopped out of the bed and ran downstairs to open the door.

"Hello sweetheart" I opened the door and saw him standing there with his adorable smile, flashing his teeth at me. He was looking so very breathtaking in a pair of casual jeans and a plain white half sleeve t-shirt.

"Hi." I greeted back. Manik bent forward and pecked my lips lightly before entering inside.

"You're not dressed... we're going out." He frowned and ran his eyes over my form. I was in my short shorts and a tank top topping it up with a crop top.

"Yeah.. I.. I forgot to tell you I have to stay back home. Navya isn't over here and I gotta take care of Blue and-"

"Who's Blue?" He cringed his brows and that is when Blue decided to make his entry into the scene.

He came running to me and then as he caught Manik's sight, Blue moved towards him to sniff his feet. Manik backed away instantly on the sight of my golden retriever approaching him. Blue liked that he was scaring Manik and he started jumping all over Manik.

"No! Just.. shoo him away! Who is he?!" Manik shouted loud as he hid himself behind me.

"A dog, Manik." I pursed my lips together to keep my giggles turning into loud laugh inside of me but, I couldn't suppress it looking at his scared face. He was afraid of dogs!

I started laughing out loud and Blue started to chase Manik all around the living room. Manik ran for his life in circles around the entire hall with Blue behind him. Well, don't they say dogs are smart? Yes, they do. Blue was just playing Manik and Manik got played. It was hilarious to watch him run away from Blue.

"Nandini just send him away! Who's dog is it anyway?! Have you started dog-sitting now by bringing them at your house? J-just get him away from me!!" Aww my poor boyfriend.

"Blue!" I called out to him and the next moment my little baby was standing in front of me, wagging his tail. I bent down to ruffle his coat, "Blue.. be a good boy, baby.. He won't harm me, okay?" Blue snuggled into my feet and I gave him a warm hug.

"Such a good boy" I cooed and that made him happy as he wagged his tail and jumped onto me. He wanted me to take him in my arms but he wasn't that little now. When I left, he was such a small baby and now he was all grown big boy. "Blue, no. Go and sleep now." I ordered him and wagging his tail he crawled under the dinning table to enjoy a peaceful nap.

I turned around to have a look at Manik and I saw him standing over the sofa wearing a horrifying look over his face. I burst out laughing again at his horrid expression. This man standing 6'1" tall was afraid of dogs.

"Ha. Ha. Ha, tease all you want. Is he.. is he gone?" He looked around the hall.

"Yes, he is and would you mind getting off the sofa? You're on it with shoes Manik, Navya will dagger me!" I pulled him off the sofa and he reluctantly got down.

"He is gone, okay? Relax." I assured him and his tensed shoulders relaxed a bit.

He let out a sigh of relief, "You never had a dog. I was gone for a week and here you have full grown dog already?"

"My brother left him here..."

"I am never coming back here with that dog in this place." He looked like a scared cat!

"You are so scared of dogs Manik Malhotra." I laughed out loud on his face.

"I'm.. I'm not scared of them.. I just don't like them." He deadpaned.
