That One Night (Vampire Knight FanFic)

One ~ Cross Academy

Sitting in lesson I slowly take in the information given to us but I slowly start to get more and more sleepy, it's not my fault I'm unsure of those vampires, they could sneak into the girls dorm any day.

I'm not so sure of those vampires, but I was forced into this school by my mum and dad, my grandfather used to be some sort of vampire slayer so I know some things but he got killed by a vampire.

"Ayane" The teacher looks at me.

My head hits the desk and I sit up quickly "Yes?"

"Did you not get enough sleep last night, did you miss the curfew?" The teacher raised his eyebrow at me.

"Sorry Sir" I say rubbing my head looking back down to my exercise book. I hear people snicker at me. It happens, I'm like a clown. A clown which doesn't know anything.

Sliding out of my seat after lesson I start walking down the corridor of the school. I really need to study more, otherwise I'll never pass the exams!

"Ayane!"

I turn around seeing my good friend Akira. He and I have been good friends since we both joined Cross Academy. We both have the same opinions and we agree on the same things. We both hate the way we were forced into the school and only to find out vampires come here to.

"Akira" I smile brightly and we start to walk side by side. "Aren't you going to cram?"

"Heh? No way! I rather study with you in the library" Akira says burying his hands into his pockets "Beside I can't leave you alone with vampires around"

"It hasn't stopped you before" I say as we turn the corner. We start walking towards the library now.

"W-Well... Hey! I made a promise to you that I would protect you right! I will not ever give up on that promise not matter how long it takes!" Akira demands as we enter a library.

"Shhh we are in a library" I whisper teasing him as I walk over to the studying book section.

Akira pouts at me and whispers "Suit yourself"

I roll my eyes grabbing a Maths book. Sitting down at a table I start writing down notes.

I have always been know as the girl who studies the hardest. I hate failing classes so I don't let the vampire bothers me as much as they seem to. Akira hates studying sometimes he just learns in lessons and then forgets it afterwards.

Looking over to Akira I see him with his head on the desk asleep. I smile and get back into taking notes in, I'll let him borrow them if he needs them but I think he is good at maths... or was it English?

Sighing I run a hand through my pink dyed hair. I hated my natural hair colour... blonde. It really didn't suit me.

"Such an angel" Akira mumbles in his sleep. "...Ayane... is an angel from heaven" He starts to drool on the table.

I shake my head and lightly push him to wake him up but he accidentally falls out of his chair making me jump.

"Oi! Ayane!" Akira yells at me.

People around the library turn to us and shhh us loudly.

Akira is taken back and he sits back into his chair "Sorry" he mumbles and turns to me "What was that about?"

"I didn't mean for you to fall out of the chair" I exclaim "I pushed you lightly because you were drooling saying I'm an angel from heaven"

I watch Akira blush darkly and look away from me "Sorry!"

"Ah... It's fine" I say turning back to my notes.

I stand cramped up with a bunch of girls waiting for the night class (the vampire) to appear out from the other dorm. Us humans have separate dorm to the vampires, but in our dorm we have the girl dorm and boy dorm in different places. It's the same with the vampires.

"Aido we love you!" Girls scream "We love you too Kaname!"

"Oi watch it!" Yuki Cross, the head teachers daughter yells at the girls shoving them aside.

She and Zero have always been the ones to protect the humans from the vampires. I know the vampires take those tablets which stop their hunger but... aren't they supposed to taste horrible?

"Thank you!" Aido waves back with a smile on his face.

He has always been the cheerful one but sometimes I wonder if that is how he really acts. I thought most vampires were meant to be serious...

"Hey!"

I turn around to Akira beckoning me over.

"Akira" I say.

he holds his hand out to me. Taking it he pulls me out of the tight crowded. I fall against him and we fall on the ground together.

"Thanks" I say rolling away from him exhaling "That was really tight"

"I don't understand these girls" Akira says sitting up "They are meant to be scared of vampires. They aren't meant to be falling in love with them"

"I understand you there" I say and stand up wiping myself down

Akira stands up beside me as we look over to the vampires.

As they continue to walk Aido looks over his eyes straight on mine. I don't dare to move my gaze.

"Enough with this!" Akira says to me grabbing my wrist pulling me away "C'mon!"

"Ah! Okay" I say as I follow Akira as we make our way back to the building.

What was that just now? Why was he staring at me? Was it my hair?

Sitting in my dorm I lay on my bed looking up to the ceiling. I can't stop thinking about that vampire. I pull out my sliver cross chain from my nighty. It was wrapped around my neck tightly.

Shutting my eyes I exhale.

No vampires will be attacking me tonight.
